*** Tottenham Hotspur - Arsenal OMT ***

We lost. But if you sit back for a moment you will see a lot of positives along with the negatives from that game. I have never ever seen Spurs boss possesion over an Scum team like that. They basically sat back and tried to hit us on the break. Those saying it was good tactics by Wenger are deluded. He never ever plays like that. His team was forced back by our possesion. If I was a gooner fan now I would be worried by that game, they were hanging on for long periods.

My major points from the game are that Dawson can be a weakness in the side. He was badly at fault for their goal. He played them all onside to cover for his lack of pace, then lost the near post to Giroud when it was obvious that was going to be the ball in. Capoue looks badly injured. Im hoping its just a ligament pull, but Fatty Cazorla landed on his ankle and he looked in pain. So could be bad.

Dembele and paulinhio looked off the pace, i cannot believe that AVB took off Townsend who was our best goal threat and left on Chadli the one trick pony. We needed some guile in there to accent the power in the middle. Dembele off for Holtby was the right call in my mind, and Chadli off for Lamela.

Soldado has a really good touch, he held up play very well. But he needs some better support with balls into the box. In the next game we really need to see Holtby or Eriksen in behind him.

We lookd a little disjointed at the back, but i thought Rose did well up against Walnut and Vertonghen was his usual calm self. I would like to see Kaboul back in the side for the Norwich game. The press are going to be on our back about goals from open play now. So get ready for that.

Cant believe some of the comments, we didnt play well and were punished by a side who on that performance we should be beating but lets be honest, we have a lot of players to bed in and they'll need time. I fear Liverpool more today as you can see their hunger.

With Arsenal, I cant see the class, and this year they'll be found out, finally as the average team that they are.

Not too disappointed with the loss tbh, thought we looked the more impressive, we'll get better in time.

On a side note, Capoue looks the business, hoping for a Paulinho and Capoue partnership to be given the chance this season with the likes of Eriksen, Lamela and Townsend/Lennon in front. Chadli's distribution frustrates me big time.

GHod it must be hard supporting you lot. Haven't won the title since 1961 … dunno how you live with yourselves to be honest.

Well, that was thoroughly awful. I said we needed to play better to win this at half-time: if anything, we played worse.

AVB was outmaneuvered by Wenger today, and our team was given a lesson in team defending and quick passing. Dawson was awful, as was Rose, and our utter lack of an attacking threat was plain to see.

Sigh. I expected a disjointed performance, but that doesn't mean this loss doesn't hurt all the same. Still, onwards and upwards. At least we were given a reality check early: we will need to play much, much, much better if we are to claim a CL spot, money spent be damned, and Arsenal will push us all the way regardless of whether they make any signings or not.

Hang on why are you pinning this on Rose and Dawson - I actually thought Dawson made some important interventions and but for our defence especially LLoris we would have lost that by a greater margin. Until Sandro came on the combination of capoue, paulinho and Dembele were simply awful.

You guys! Some of the posts on here are laughable. You think we, or any team, can change things up and everything will click immediately?
We dominated the Scum in their backyard, and were undone by a great finish/Daws brainfart.
Once our team is bedded in we will be damn nigh unstoppable.
COYS!

This! I mean yes we lost to Arsenal so obviously we're all feeling a little emotional - but we lost 1-0 from a little **** up at the back. Lessons to be learnt from today, our new team's still gelling together. Let's just take this one on the chin.

How times change when a goon is desperately trolling drawing level with us the league :)

Once we gel we'll be an amazing side. COYS!!

Deserved loss, but I can't help feeling we have a lot more for us than this performance. They were simply far more up for it today.

Oh well. Let's smash them at White Hart Lane!!

COYS!

Dominating possession is not dominating the game. Chesney had to make 1 important save, how many did Lloris have to make?

Dawson and Walker were appalling, not good enough im afraid..

It annoyed me how we played with so little urgency, pride and passion well until the 80th minute..

I thought Dawson, Rose and Walker would be the weak links looking at our team, but lucky they are english and count as homegrown players. For Salano the **** fan, I can only say good luck, cause on todays performance you'll need it!!!!

DubaiSpur, I'm a bit shocked at your assessment to be honest, but I completely agree with Sandman.

I don't think this was Wenger's tactics at all. We just went to Arsenal's ground and controlled the game. We set the tempo. Did we slice them open at will? No, of course not. But that is never going to happen at the Emirates anyway. I'm not even saying it was a great performance, but to go there and set the tempo like we did is damn impressive. I came away from this game actually feeling pretty happy. Creating chance after chance wasn't there but I think the pieces of the puzzle were to have a really good season.

Under AVB we aren't an 'attacking' team as I feel some commentators lazily point out. We don't play to attack like Harry. We play to control. So that means we don't create chance after chance but leave ourselves exposed. The idea is to create some very good chances and rarely give anything away at the back at all, while probing for openings in possession. The fact that we were able to go to the Emirates and implement this shows how far we have come. I liken this to the Saudi Sportswashing Machine away game last year. Yes they won, but we clearly looked like the better side and it was obvious it would be that way at the end of the season.

The chances we did give away come from a lack of concentration from an individual who probably isn't suited to how we want to go. And unfortunately despite fighting his way back into the plans, Dawson I think is the weak link for me in this team. And today the other problem was that some of the new signings clearly hadn't the time to settle in. Lamela had good touches but it was clear he didn't know exactly which positions to be taking up. But that will come in a couple of weeks, he only had one session.

But other than that - Lloris, class. Walker and Rose, actually pretty good. Dawson and Vertonghen lost concentration for the goal. Midfield was pretty imposing and controlled possession, while up town Chadli and Soldado showed nice touches and Townsend looks like a genuine threat.

The performance today for us looked like the better team unfortunately losing to the plucky mid-table team looking to sit back and hit on the break. So many times we may have beaten Arsenal that way but today it was other way around. We looked like the big dogs and once our signings are integrated, we are going to be very, very hard to stop.

@Portugeezer  Come on, don't be like that you ole sourpuss.

The real Solano would be appalled that his name was being used to troll,on behalf of a team he, never chose to represent. Now, politely, **** off.
