Willian

I also still dont think we are after a "central" creative player. We're simply crowding the central midfield with big strong beast midfielders who will overpower and keep the ball whilst our wide men do damage, which is why Willian would have been good, creative wide midfielder who can cause havoc by coming inside. I am hoping Lamela can do that, he is creative but he relies more on dribbling and finishing and what a hell of a finisher he is.

Yeah agree. Whoever we sign for the left inside forward role needs to be as similar to Willian as possible. I really can't see us going for a deeper-sitting CM ballplayer like Pjanic or Eriksen.

I don't know who that will be though.

- Bernard has already been sold
- Ljajic is more like Lamela (i.e. direct cf creative)
- Offer Liverpool a double your money on Coutinho?

After missing out on Villa and Benteke, then ending up with Soldado who is the best signing of the three anyway, I have faith Baldini and AVB will get someone ideal. I just can't think who at the moment.

anyone that says that the willian deal was done after what happened can kiss my ass.

the most ridiculous notion i have ever ****ing heard.

how can something be done if it isnt done. Stupid ****ing ITKs at worst...illiterates, much like myself, at best. if it was done then this would be a legal matter of a player signing everything ...and the clubs signing eveything but then the players goes and joins someone else

these people annoy me and i firmly believe they need this sort of adulation and worshipping in their lives.

I agree. I can't even begin to imagine who it could be or who would fit the mould, especially someone who's gettable anyway..

- Halilovic would be good but I don't think he's THAT level yet. I do hope we go ahead with him though.
- Ben Arfa perhaps? does have injury problems, I dont think he'd be TOO expensive but definitely a gamble.
- Muniain? Bit more of a winger but being Spanish he would know all about intricate little passes and linking up well with Soldado
- Griezmann? One I'd like. Again, not a Willian type player but would add assists and goals from the left.
- Douglas Costa? One from Shakhtar, was VERY highly rated in the past and was close to Man Utd at one stage

Bitch please, it was as good as done. even AVB said we were doing something.

Tottenham believe Chelsea gazumped them for £30million Willian because Jose Mourinho fears they are genuine title contenders.

Fuming Spurs are preparing to confirm the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid this weekend for a *world-record fee, and he has already been removed from the club’s website.

No he hasn't..... Player profile still there, still there in the new kit... But why let details get in the way of a good story eh?

Lamela can most certainly do that, I think he's the better buy out of he two.

- Leandro Paredes?

Baldini to unearth another gem id say ... we desperately need a striker to capable of competing with Soldado ... dont say Defoe or Adebayor.

After purchasing Lamela, I still think we are a LB, AM, CF away from having an absolute monster team.

I am gutted we didn't sign Willian, but as a lot of posters are saying, if his agent is making him sign for the money, then we may have miss a bullet. A good season and then we have a Modric/Berba going on again.

i've always known that my english was vey poor cause that sure as hell doesnt sound like "its done!!"

neither does "it was as good as done". what does that mean exactly? that the paperwork is off to lawyer or something? cause then at least everyone has signed everything...then its as good as done except for admin work.
i'll tell you what though..if someone saying something is going down or that its as good as means that the end of it then we are in for some turbulent immoral transfer windows.

it ridiculous and IMHO quite frankly totally wrong.

how is something done when it isnt? why would anyone even want to say that knowing the trend and behaviours of the average human let alone footballers in a back handed industry.

anyone can say that surely

I was tempted to put Viktor Fischer but saw him more as a winger. would LOVE him here, more so than Eriksen.
I didn't put Draxler down as this guy rejected big clubs to stay loyal to Schalke at his age, respect.
Never heard of Leandro Paredes

I know there's a thread to discuss it, but Özil would be the best option for us.
I've lost my faith in footballers long ago (especially after this Willian-case) and he is not in our league, but I can see him make a move for footballing reasons.
Yes, even Coentrao, who is up for sale and a bit desperate to find a club, seems to refuse to come here, but Özil is a Spurs type of player. Great bloke on and off the pitch.
He was born to play for Spurs ;)

Levy's next deadline day present to his manager form Madrid. [-o<

Think we need Lamela, LB, CB and then another wide man/no 10 type. Regarding an out and out CF, to be honest I'm not that bothered. If we keep Defoe as back-up and flog Adebayor that's ok

After their daylight robbery in the CL a couple of years ago and now this I think I may actually hate Chelsea as much as Arsenal. I mean at least Wenger and co. are comedians, these lot are just utter, utter cvnts.

It's a good point, in that hoping Baldini can move swiftly on to the next target as he did with Soldado after Villa and Benteke...but who is the next one? Who is on Willian's level and will have the same sort of creative impact coming from wide left?

Is Pjanic even that good? And would Roma even sell?

Pjanic wouldn't be a replacement for Willian. He plays deeper and is more of a playmaker that a tricky dribbler type. I cant see us getting someone like Pjanic given that we also need to tie up Lamela, CB, LB and Willian's replacement
