The Goon Thread - Officially Second In A One Horse Race

Scum always seem to pull something out of the bag when they are faced with a crisis. How long can they keep doing it for? We should have got the better of them last season.

Much as I feel the hurt that they have done much better than us over the pass decades and live in hope to see the day we eclipse them, I think they still have the ability to push for the top four and that they will sign a top player this window. Crowing this early is a big mistake.

The so called A*****l fans who rant at Wenger are just a mob of ingrates, he has taken a long ball, offside playing bunch of kickers into a world class football team, who we are trying to displace, they may not be at their best now but don't under estimate them. If you can't see that you know nothing about football.

I'm not underestimating them. Anyone who does is a macaron. We've had a better squad than them in each of the last two seasons and still failed to capitalise. Even though Wenger isn't the great manager he once was, he's still good enough to keep getting them back into that top 4.
 
The positive of their result tonight is that Wenger will think he has a title winning team and that they definitely dont need reinforcements.

Fenerbahce must be one of the poorest teams in the qualifying stages of the competition.
 
I think the board may have forced them to hold back spending until CL group stages was guaranteed. Which looks likely now. So we may see a few signings....tho they have missed out on a few they could still bring in some quality.

I think they'll get Cabaye, but its a strange transfer. I think Wenger has developed a very strange blind-spot. Where he used to concentrate on buying strong, powerful athletes (who obviously had technique too), he now seems completely adverse to them. I don't get it.

A midfield of Cabaye, Arteta and Wheelchair looks good on the ball, but a bit one-paced and able to be overpowered fairly easily. Luiz Gustavo would have been just what they need, a Brazilian beast who protects the ball-players. Even their front three of Cazorla, Giroud and Walcott looks a bit powder-puff. And only Walcott has pace.

Their teams used to really scare me as they'd just overpower you. Now I'm not scared, I just have a healthy respect for them as a good team who can pass and move and hurt you with a bit of skill and who will give you a tough game. I would be fairly confident of beating them at home though and getting a draw away as it stands.

BBC saying that **** are going for Di Maria and Benzema and could spend close to £100m in the remainder of the window!

FIrstly, why on earth would Benzema leave Real? He's seen off Higuain so now only has MOrata as genuine compe***ion. **** are welcome to Di Maria - diving, cheating, [insert noun] would fit it well there - over-rated and over-priced so hope they concentrate on him
