Why is it every year we are linked to this player. Can the ITK that has succeeded in getting this brick player his own thread please find a serial killer that will chop you into small pieces and put you in a sports bag with a label on the bag saying because he was a ****.

Some people in this thread are so fudging needy they'd take this rather than nothing, "ooh, Ade's away" "what if Defoe gets injured", I'd rather play a current player out of position than sully the shirt with a sub-journeyman. Stick Gomes up front and tell to fudging run around a bit.

You'd have to think that there's a better CF out there who we cold get in on loan if we dont want to pay big fees

Jones is a 1 in 5 scorer. A 1 in 3 striker will not come to Spurs to sit on the bench. Ade, Defoe and Dempsey will all be picked in front of Jones.
He was not in my thoughts before the QPR game when we were scoring for fun. But after that game and thinking about the Stoke draw also made me think that a big lump coming on for the last minutes may have improved the outcome of those games.
In the (unlikely) event he were to sign he either hits (possible) or misses. If he misses not a lot of harm done.
If he hits..happy days.

Peter Crouch was a superb player to have in the squad, an option. Just a shame he became Plan A and there was no Plan B.

Jones would be better than not having a fourth striker at the club, or three going into the ACN. But he's not top four quality, and like Saha that sort of player doesn't seem to get any leeway from our fans. A shame really, would rather have the option of having a real striker to field if necessary rather than make square pegs fit into round holes.

A very good post. The two sentences about Crouch summed up Redknapp's reign at the club.

Some fans like to have a spacegoat, so whoever it is is not a major concern-currently it is Ade, a coupla weeks ago it was Dempsey.

I know a Spurs fan who actually wants Kenwyne Jones at the club. Mainly due to the fact that he is a beast and could do a job.

I wouldn't mind him if the deal was us taking him on a 6 month loan and Stoke taking Huddlestone for 6 months.

You know we've scored less headed goals than any club in the league, inspite of a few from Caulker and co at set pieces? Presumably because we keep the ball on the ground.

AVB likes probing possession football. There's no way he'd consider an 'English centre forward'.

though diamo was an english type centre forward

if we had to go for one i would go for jason roberts as he is a yid and on a free, not bad for a 6 month contract

but he'd consider a Brazilian English centre forward though.

Anyway i take what people say about what AVB likes and doesn't like with a pinch of salt. People were continuoiusly claiming AVB's plan at Chelski was to get rid of the old guard and replace them with younger players but AVB himself stated one of his main transfer targets as Chelski boss was a 30 year old Scott Parker....a typical English midfielder as you like to say.
