Please no - rather spend the money on Grant Holt or Rickie Lambert - proven PL lads, triffic players

On a serious note - I think apart from great physical presence - he offers little in terms of finishing off chances and is rather poor in the 6 yard box.

An excellent goal celebration though which is pretty important

Peter Crouch was a superb player to have in the squad, an option. Just a shame he became Plan A and there was no Plan B.

Jones would be better than not having a fourth striker at the club, or three going into the ACN. But he's not top four quality, and like Saha that sort of player doesn't seem to get any leeway from our fans. A shame really, would rather have the option of having a real striker to field if necessary rather than make square pegs fit into round holes.

Are we actually linked to this piece of brick that Roy Keane once thought was better than Berbatov or is this just a thread created for the hell of it ?

WALOB

Seriously guys, just a reminder, Harrys gone now.
We don't buy this type of player anymore.

I dont particularly rate him at all however if its really Kenwyne Jones for £3m or alternatively no more signings then I would go with him.

Reason is simply that we're so light up front that we're one injury away from being screwed. Say Defoe picked up an injury in training today which ended his season, we'd have Kane or Dempsey for the rest of jan and then an off-form/dis-interested Ade for the rest

Not ideal

I take your point, but we would only get tinkled off with him, and the booing would no-doubt start.

I'd rather we played Obika/Mason/Coulibaly/ re-call Kane, anything.

Who cares. Much more likely to get support from us than bloody Jones.

I can't believe we are even talking about this.

What scares me is that AVB may see Jones as a direct replacement for Ade for when he's away. Like for like in size and stature but a million miles away in talent.

whilst thats true he may also be a million miles away in attitude which might be a good thing

Kenwyne fudging jones? We're Tottenham Hotspur. Not some tin pot club like Bolton or Wigan. Deary me if that's best we can hope for may as well give up.

We were linked to him a couple of years ago and at that stage I would have been all for it. Now...not so sure.

When Harry wanted him I'd rather we didn't sign anyone as he'd be plan A. This time I don't care either way. Price tag has come down since his Sunderland days though.
