Not sure it weakens Saudi Sportswashing Machine, it could allow Pardew to switch to formation he used last season.
Buy a £10m rated wide forward, allow Cisse to be the main goal threat - Ba has had a negative impact on Cisse this season compared to last season when Ba was more willing to play wide. Saudi Sportswashing Machine side could turn out more balanced with Ba out and someone else in.

That's assuming that the new player gets straight into it and starts performing, not always the case.

I think Ba is better than Cisse and one of Saudi Sportswashing Machine's better players. Just about never a good thing to lose one of your better players.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans want Remy.

That would let their players play in their favoured positions,

Remy - Cisse - Ben Arfa

but we can count on at least one of them to be injured at any time, giving game time to the Ameobis.

@PeteGravesSky #cfc will have discovered what many knew already. The 7.5m buyout clause is merely the tip of the iceBArg. #Saudi Sportswashing Machine

@CaulkinTheTimes: Ba isn't bargain he appears: £7.5m fee + agent fees + 80k weekly + 4yr deal (what he has asked from #Saudi Sportswashing Machine) & unlikely to pass medical.

Think he feels a couple of decent seasons in the prem should equal a massive pay-day for him. He needs to find a club desperate enough to ignore the fact his knees are made of glass though talking about those figures! Jesus

QPR are the only team silly enough to take him and pay that sort of wage.

Him moving to QPR with a minimum release clause if they get relegated somewhere in the vicinity of his current release clause would be a great deal for his agents.

Edit: If not QPR, maybe us? Levy special, deadline day deal as the player and Saudi Sportswashing Machine are growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of action. His agents knowing that the deadline is approaching might accept a cheaper deal than they would accept now in December.

From the sounds of things it isn't him who is getting greedy but his agents. £80k a week and only £7.5 million transfer fee for Ba is a Bargain... but it sounds like his agents know that so are adding themselves a fee to make up for. Maybe his agents will argue that they deserve it due to doing so well to negotiate teh £7.5 million release clause in the first place?

I really, really, hope not.

His agents sound like the usual greedy pricks. He should ditch them, get a new one who will take a smaller fee then he would get the wages he wants. Some people are too stupid to see that though.

TBF would be a great deal for QPR if he scores the goals that can keep them up.

How much money do we have to spend on transfers this Jan then? We balanced the books in the summer so i'd like to think we have some money to go and buy a couple of good players and make a real push for 4th spot. I think we need to speculate to acculate, so spend some money now which we can recoupe by getting into the CL.

I fear as usual that Levy wont put his hand in his pocket as he rarely spends big or it's got to be a fantastic deal to make Levy part with the cash.. I feel we have at least 20 mill cause we were about to get Mouthino at the end of the summer window so if thats the only cash we have to play with then a move for Ba and Sneijer would make the most sense as both players are within budget but if as it looks like Ba will leave for Chelsea or QPR i think it could open the door for us to land Llorente.. His contract runs out in the summer so maybe they'll look to cash in on him before then? Our nearest competition for him would probably be Arsenal or Liverpool and i'd like to think we could put a better package together to get him.

Cheatski have triggered the release clause in his contract

Just to add a source: Was confirmed by the Saudi Sportswashing Machine official twitter who also said that he wouldn't be included in the squad today as a result of him talking to Chelsea.

Think Ba would be a good signing for the russians, that is, if he ever gets off the bench. Cant see the fat spanish waiter dropping Torres but presumably Ba will be happy with the massive increase to his salary to escape the North and sit on his arse every Satruday afternoon. You'd imagine its a done deal - cant see Utd going for him as they have 4 CFs, Man C have bigger fish to fry, Wenger has said he's not interested, we couldnt match Chlsea's wages,....

Only upside for us is that it weakens Saudi Sportswashing Machine (who have a very decent first 11 when everyone's fit, though lack a squad) but wont really strengthen's chelsea's starting 11

Every player has agents fees though and how do we know for sure he's demanding 85k p/w?

Every player having agent fees doesn't mean that all agents fees are the same. There's a difference between half a million pounds and multiple millions of pounds.

We don't know for sure, but it seems somewhat reasonable to think so based on what has been reported.

I think he would be a good signing too, I think he would score goals for Chelsea. You never know with Abramovich, but as long as Benitez actually wants him I think it will be a good move for them. Torres has been given a regular place in the starting line-up now with no real competition for his place and he still hasn't reached top form, they can't just keep trusting him when he doesn't deliver. Probably they will sell Sturridge so signing another striker makes sense.

I don't think this is the striker signing Abramovich wants though, I think this is more of a "carry us out the season and then be an option" type signing, think it means that Torres is done in the summer and that they will then go for Falcao or Cavani.
