Ratings - Lazio (A)

Lloris was very good, couple of dodgy kicks aside, seemed to be very assured. What impressed me the most was his awareness of his goal, being able to leave shots/crosses as he knew exactly where the goal was in relation to him. It will be a poor move for AVB to drop him for the Spammers.

I'm not going to criticise any of the back 4, as at least they put a shift in/ran their bodies into the ground. Yes there were a few missed placed passes, but when the players up top couldn't pass/hold up the ball, and the ball is coming back too frequently, mistakes will be made.

Carroll and Sandro were good, tried to get things going/break things up respectively. V disappointed with Bale; completely invisible in the 2nd half apart from the last 2 mins. Ade and Dempsey weren't good. I'd be interested to see their opta stats, see how much they ran/distance covered as they looked uninterested to me (could well be proven wrong). Difficult for Sig playing out of position, but he wasn't too good either

Walker had a decent game, controlled the left wing. He is though a very very limited footballer

Dempsey was good, we kind of fell apart in the middle when he went off. He works EXTREMELY hard but the footballing GHod did not give him any technique

I think we did ok, was very dissapointed with the lack af chances, otherwise solid

We need a new right back in January and BAE back.
Naughton looked overawed at times tonight he's definitely not the answer.
At least AVB can see our full backs are poor at the moment, taking both of them off at ht on saturday shows that.
 
People still rating Walker from previous games. How old are the majority on this site? Bit sad the hate for Walker i thought he was 1 of our better players tonight.

How about when he fell over when the ball slowly dribbled to their striker for a one on one. One of my personal favourites about him is his inability to judge a flight of a ball. His passing is so bad it's untrue. I have massive reservations about him.

And the rest of the teams passing has been spot on recently has it?

If we are going to single out single incidents what about when Sandro gave away the ball last night for Lazio to go 2 on 1? Should we now be rating him 4's because of this incident?

Sandro deserves criticism for that too. But Walker is continually at fault and his use of that round thing is beyond appalling now. I've seen enough to know that without his athleticism he is just a terrible footballer. That's the truth unfortunately.

Thought Walker was better defensively, but missing in an offensive sense.

But then again everyone was missing in offense yesterday...

His distribution was dreadful again last night along with his throw ins. In the second half Lazio saw his weaknesses and exploited them with high cross field passes which he kept misjudging the length like he always does as his positioning for headers leaves a lot to be desired. He wasn't the worst player on the pitch but far from one of the better players as you state in my opinion.

This is not a one off with him either, his execution of the most basic of football skills is not good enough for this level and this needs addressing. The guy has the potential but the management need to find a way to develop him better, he needs competition and a rest for starters.
 
can't believe some of the ratings walker has got by some muppets on here. ratings of 4 or 5 is a joke, yes he's been poor this season but last night defensively was the best he's been all season.

Still doesn't mean he was any good last night. If anything, it speaks volumes of how poor he has been at other times.
 
he was better then 4 or 5 for his defense display. he wasn't fantastic going forward but then again spurs as a team were poor going forward
