Harrys Trial

Harry is f#cking wonderfull, but if he goes, he goes.

He's made no secret about England, and the way some of our fans have treated him since day one, I could hardly expect him to feel like WHL is a place he could never leave.....

However, the fear of Spurs fans, and the tedious excitement of other fans at the prospect is quite baffling.

Do people honestly believe Levy wont get someone decent in? And that with Harry's departure, all this progress ceases to be?

The problem is the timing. Levy should press the FA into making a decision before the European Championships given that Harry has been clear that he'd take the England job and therefore, if the FA call him in August, we'd lose our manager just before the new season and mid-way through the transfer window. I have no doubt that Levy will get someone decent but we could do with that guy coming in early to convince Modric etc that we have ambition and bringing in players who he wants

This. It must be sure tempting for Levy to place a nice long contract in front on Harry forcing England to pay big money if they want to compensate Spurs for the loss of their manager.

At the end of the day, who knows what Harry will do? He still has to accept.

Its no good people saying "you cant believe a word he says", but then saying he will definately leave, based on his words.

One thing I think is certain, is that Harry already knows what he will do if offered the England job, and has done for some time. And I believe Levy knows too. It wont come as a shock to the club, late August.

Van Gaal would need to get rid of the egos pretty damn quickly, though. He's a disciplinarian, is he not? So his methods won't wash with EBJT, Fat Frankie Lamps, young Wheelchair, etc, etc. But if he does manage to get the dressing room under control, I think he'd make a fine England manager.

I think anyone would, actually. As long as it's not Harry.[-o<

I would like to think now that certain people within the HMRC and the CPS will be sacked for the gross negligence in brining this case at a cost of over ?ú8m to the taxpayer for essentially less than 1% of that sum outstanding in tax. Criminal waste of time and money but I won't hold my breath in seeing any action being taken.

As for all the fans of other clubs who were waiting and hoping for the opposite outcome in order to see Redknapp potentially jailed and our season derailed, there is one thing to say - You can now go back whence you came, back under your rocks in East London, under the Boleyn and back to your shanty if you are a City or Liverpool fan.

i suppose the HRMC and CPS also picks up Harry's legal fees right? Now can he counter-sue them for emotional distress?

You could look at it any way you want.

But do people really think Harry has given the England job a seconds thought these last few weeks? Let alone today? Let alone in his first interview/press conference on the Court steps, 2 minutes after being cleared?

It was just an heartfelt speech. Honest, with no hidden messages of undying loyalty to Spurs, or that he will leave......imo

Exactly Totman....some people should give sky or the tabloids a bell see if they require any new journo's, sometimes things are as they appear, no agenda, no scandal, no double meanings, no between the lines, just straight from the heart.

I have a feeling that given everything that has now gone on, Redknapp will try his hardest to combine the 2 jobs. I don't think Levy will allow it but I think he might try - given the clamour for Redknapp to be England manager and lack of credible candidates, I suspect the FA might be more receptive to the idea than Levy would.

I think that is the case in relation to Fees - as for suing, I would imagine that Redknapp and Spurs will just want to move on now.

I think, like you, that Totman was right. But i can see what indospurs was thinking.

You guys are right, He probably hasnt had the time to think about the england job in recent weeks and that was coming from the heart.

Come on! He is been entirely clear that he'l take the England job, partly so that the FA know that they wont be in a situation where they approach him and he rejects them and partly so that he cant say that he hasnt been true to his word. And it sholdnt really be a surprise that he would take it rather than stay at Spurs - he's not a Spurs fan and is a very patriotic person so for him the England job is the pinnacle and a step up

If Harry does go, who can do better than Harry has? Mourinho?

A small bunch of people, most of them unrealistic. A few of the more realistic ones, like Deschamps or Klopp, are foreign, and therefore will likely be overlooked due to the Juande debacle. So we're left looking at a PL manager who's great at motivating players, can change a game with substitutions, is approachable and media-friendly and is also ambitious enough to aim for the top.

Erm....hum...ah....Kevin Bond?

Im not saying he will leave or stay.

Im saying that whatever his decision, I reckon he already knows, and in that case Levy already knows.

I dont see a situation where we will suddenly have no manager and no one lined up, with two weeks left before the season starts

Why o why would Harry want the England job is beyond me?? International football management is such a graveyard for managers, when you look about at other nations you don't see the prime manager from that nation incharge. Do you get a Mourinho incharge of Portugal? its full of old man, even older than Redknapp who have not had a decent club job in years....

Yes I know Harry is getting to an age but he isnt past it yet, far from it, also there is no much to achieve with this squad. I would be more excited about the prospect of seeing how far you could take our crop than how long you can last as England boss.
