Christian Eriksen

Gone for the money (‘playing time’) it would appear…

would seem so. They're obviously a massively club however EL rather than CL this coming season, and probably the year after....but he might only have 3-4 years left in him.

So he wouldnt be going to Utd for footballing reasons - just money and them being a big club.

Will be interesting to see how Eriksen and Fernandes play together

Bit disappointed with this as Utd are a threat to us - perhaps not immediately but if they carry on spending hundreds of £m p.a. they'll close the gap eventually

I think Ten Haag being there might of been a pull along with an Ajax philosophy he's familiar with.

I think they'll close the gap when they sort out the whole structure of the club and employ some quality people, especially a manager. They are a shambles.

No clue if Ten Haag is that.

Don’t think it’s just about money - I wouldn’t want to go back to somewhere I’d already been for 6.5 years. Especially when he’s more likely to be starting for them than for us. And of course Man U are a more exciting proposition than Brentford.

Good luck to him (as long as Man U are finishing below us).

The rumour is he was coming to us weeks ago but asked for more money after man utd’s offer which tinkled off the club and told him we are not increasing it.

I'm intrigued how Man U line up with him as him and Penandes would need a beast in there to win the ball back and they definitely don't have one there at the moment.

Totally understand if he's been guaranteed more playing time there due to how we line up and our new found depth, hard to imagine that being a reason to miss put on a player to Man U in the prem era though!

Unlike Fernandes he can play in multipe roles/positions.

I would be concerned about the lack of balance. How good of a signing Eriksen is will depend on their other business.

Eesh. Various reports going around of us being Eriksen's preferred destination but the club not wanting him enough.

I think this one's going to come back to bite us. Suddenly United have an attacking midfielder who knows how to press and always brings out the best in the players around him.

It's tough to tell. I don't think money would have been that high on his list of priorities (besides all offers would have required a wheelbarrow each week). It was then rumoured he wanted to stay in London and would surely of preferred to be in the CL. Both ticked with us. So?, playing time? our formation not perfectly suited? Perhaps Conte didn't charm him enough 1.as he already knows him 2. Because Conte himself couldn't really say what the plan for him was.

Personally I'd of gone for him. He's clever. Provides an instant easy formation change, and likely zero settling in/up to speed problems.

That was what I was intending to imply. Penandes would start most games as a ten so if Eriksen played CM I think they would be exposed centrally when they don't have the ball based on their current options.
