Headline: Arsenal plan IMPROVED BID for Leeds’ Raphinha as Spurs and Chelsea loom.

Does beg the question though. Raphinha plays in the same position as saka, who's in the last 2 years of his contract. Are they looking for a replacement?

If we could get both i would. If Raphina can also cover the rwb role. That could be frightening. Raphina and perisic as wing backs.

Finding this Raphinha interest a little odd. Unless he is also being considered as cover for Son on the other side but I don’t see any real history there. Or maybe a false 9?

Seems a lot of money to spend on a player that covers one position where we already have quality…….yeah I’ve discarded the wing back angle - really don’t see how it would work as playing there with Kulu is just going to be weird with them effectively taking up similar approaches. Surely a right footer working round Kulu works better for the RWB role.

Obvs fully aware we need a strong squad for this season but just see it as a big spend for what you’re going to get.

On the flip side - big fan!

I think we’re interested because of his quality and maybe not wanting Arsenal to have him. Hopefully Barca stump up the cash as Kulu compliments Kane and Son so well. No need to fudge with that.

If you go for Raphina then you get in someone like Bererton to cover Kane

I wouldn't mind that. Although then potentially you get issues with Kane's direct understudy not getting enough minutes and it all going a bit Vincent Janssen.

A versatile CF/WF seems a much better solution, and especially someone like Richarlison who offers the physicality at #9, which most jobbing WFs don't

If United get Eriksen and De Jong they could have a midfield of

Van De Beek De Jong
Eriksen

Ten Hag had De Beek and De Jong playing incredible football at Ajax and we would have all creamed our knickers for that midfield trio after that champions league run.
That's what I worry about. In the same way that Conte improved us pretty damn quickly, ten Hag could do the same -- and more! -- for Yanited. Their squad may be an unbalanced mess, but there are some players in there who've been seriously good in the past. Perhaps Eriksen does fancy getting A LOT of pitch time in midfield, along with two bloody good players from his old Ajax stomping ground.

It's still too early to write off Man U. However, if they turn out to be as much of a mess this season as they were last season, freefall could finally beckon. We're seeing the seeds now, as players start agitating to move away. That rarely happened in Fergie's time.

5 subs and succession planning. Me too, big fan of Raphina. I think he's more active and mobile than Richarlison though its probably got to do alot with they type of football their respective teams play.

Raphinha can do everything. Passes well through the lines, crosses well, shoots well, dribbles well, great touch and invention. Technically he’s superb.

I would prefer Raphinia over richarleson and Jesus, works harder defensively and why couldn’t he play anywhere behind Kane? He has all the tools to do soo and has shown to be a good passer and good finisher, works hard too on his defensive game for a forward.

which ever way it falls, raphinia or richarleson we are approaching the transfer market properly with these two targets

Yeah moura just isn’t effective enough
Doesn’t score and doesn’t create
We need better
Upgrades to elevate the squad and team

there is a reason why every manager since Moura signed has made him a sub more or less. He is a good player no doubting that, but he is just short (no pun intended) of being a very very good player. If he could cross, or play a killer ball he would be pushing. His finishing and heading ability is good enough.
