Christian Eriksen

I know Romano is not the gospel but he doesn’t say we are targeting a midfielder.

We might not be. Eriksen could have just been a punt. On a free, conte knows him, knows the club, prem proven. What's the risk? We also have sarr coming back from loan. Conte might want to look at him before deciding if we want to buy an attacking midfielder.

Yes, it feels like Gold’s been briefed by the club to put this out there as a kind of ‘stop dingdonging around’ message to Eriksen.

Possibly not though…

I said the same earlier, but they could just tell his agent. You have till weds and then we're going for other options.

Paratici is known for negotiating alot of deals, this may well be the case. It may have been Bossouma or Eriksen for all we know.

Really? Eriksen is going to be looking out for the legendary Ali Golds latest tweets and then makes his next move based on that?o_O Some people really do over inflate this guy. If Spurs wanted to tell him to get a move on with the decision they would do so directly and not through Ali Gold…..

It's actually an article in football london, that has now been copied by various other media sources including the daily mail. It will be everywhere by tomorrow. Yes his agent will know whats going on in the media regarding his client. It's part of his job.

You are correct though spurs could just tell the agent.

We're in trouble if it was an either/or situation between a DM and an AM - doesn't exactly suggest joined up thinking

I know where it’s come from, but agents know what is going on through talking to football people - Eriksen and his agent are not going to be acting on anything based on an article, and the thought that Gold could be used to push things rather than Paratici having a conversation with his agent is to be polite, fanciful….

I don’t think it’s that crazy, only to people who constantly spend their time putting him down.

When he is on the pitch he always makes things happen and creates, yes he gives the ball away but that comes with being a dribbler and being someone who looks to break the lines and take risks. It’s a fair argument that he isn’t going to be the best person for a Conte system, but that system isn’t always going to work and you need a plan B - someone like Moura who can create is definitely worth keeping and utilising……

This.

It's very underrated having a disrupter like Moura. Even if we bring in a richarlson ahead of him, he'll still be an important part of our forward roster.

There's a reason multiple managers always used him ahead of bergwijn, bale and even the haloed lamela

And this.

Is giving GLC another go out of the question?

Predominantly used in domestic cups, off the bench or when we want to go 352. If the best offers are something like €16m plus €1.75m in addons then we are not going to sell him.

Could he not thrive in a settled environment and system with two of our four central midfielders behind him doing the dirty work?

He doesn't do what we want though. Doesn't create, assist, score.

If Eriksen is up for it, it should be a no brainer for us to re-sign him on a free, in my opinion. Doesn't look like we will though.

Just too many injuries vs being fit for Argentina. Didn’t add up for me.

Only if he's had an attitude bypass, he stank the place out. I'm sure I've open the door to his lovers but I don't care what the player wants or where he wants to play when he pulls the shirt on I want to see effort for the team, skill and talent count for nothing if you can't be arsed.

The guys on holiday. He's received offers from whomever is interested, will ponder them on the sun lounger and indicate his decision on return.

He's probably stated not to bother him while away. You'd guess family time is precious to him this summer.

It's not like he's going to tell you at the back end of July, more like back end of June...hardly disruptive, and if a club thinks it is, you don't deserve his services.
