Gleison Bremer

Interesting. So Bremer would be a signing to allow us to almost park the bus ourselves but Bastoni would be more like a 'Pep-like' auxilliary attacking midfielder?

No, bastoni would be pinging long balls to perisic, son etc... turning defence to attack. Bypassing the midfield.

Ok, so what will Bremer be doing?

I don't know contes mind but bremer might take diers place in defence. Then we also get an lcb that can do a similar job to what bastoni would do. Although bremers stats for creating chances aren't bad, not as good as bastoni. But bremer was playing for torino while bastoni played for inter. Inter obviously created more chances and had more of the ball than torino last season.

We'll see.

Stuff to win series A best defender award.
He's very prominent and likes to get involved like Romero, only bigger. Carries the ball upfield with ease, especially useful when 3 CBs usually means one less body upfield.

Would be tough to win that battle because although chelsea will be more sensible in the market they will gazump us on wages, which they can do more easily without unsettling their squad as so many are already on huge wages.

Can see them offering £200k pw to pip us.

Dunno roman isn't in charge any more. We'll have to see what the new owners approach is.

Think we'll see a massively different approach now. The new owners will not operate like roman, who basically subsidised them with £10m every month, for 20 years! The new owners will want to operate it as a self sustaining business, like us. Given the two clubs have a very similar level of income, with only us able to improve it, I don't see them wanting to or being able to generally outbid us.

To look at it another way they may want to prove themselves to the Chelsea fans and might see gazumping us as a great pr coup

Not sure bremmer is a pr coup. Bringing in rice or martinez would be. They do need to sort out their defence though. Really surprised they haven't brought anyone in yet.

As I said, generally I don't think they will be able to do that, but of course it's possible they might want a player more than we do and occasionally offer a financially better package.

It's going to take enormous wages to make him give up his dream of representing Italy at international level, especially now he's so close to qualifying for them

They need to work out what ££ they have - new boards take time to pull that together

Agree but because so many in their squad are on massive wages, giving bremer 200k wont raise any eyebrows but for us that might seem odd to someone like romero for example.
