Yves Bissouma

Wow to think a decade ago his parents struggled to afford him a football and he had to walk miles to play. I hope Spurs have staff who can help players in other ways such as with an education or life skills training, to help them find more meaningful things to do outside footballing time.

Looks really direct and purposeful - like his immediately thought is to make something happen.

Him, Bentancur and Skipp can all do that as well as hold - that could be very useful. Lots of ways to get the ball fwds

Similar to Richarlson. Hmmm...... wonder if we are targeting something specific

My mate is nick tsaroullas uncle. Spurs are very good at ensuring players get a very good education, time off for studying exams. They know most academy players aren't getting in the first team. One of the sells is that they are supported to an extent that even if they don't make it in football they have something.

I think it’s interesting to see a lot of opposition supporters predict a pairing of Hojbjerg and Bissouma. I think Bentancur has to partner Bissouma most of the time barring rotation.
For the games against the top 6 it'll probably be Bentancur and Bissouma. For others I think it'll be one of Bentancur and Bissouma, then one of PEH and Skipp.
There's a couple of months with ridiculous schedules with games about every 3 days, so there will be plenty of rotation.

Surely it's one of Hojberg & Bentancur paired with one of Bissouma & Skipp, with the latter being the more defensive roles.

To be fair, Winks was MOTM in that game (maybe tied with Rose). He was a different hunk of burning love then to now.

That is fair comment. They were our best players on the night. Which sort of made a mockery of the "Kane should never have started" claims. Winks was out for a similar period to Kane in the lead up to that final IIRC.

I agree that Bentancur and Bissouma would, in my mind, be our first choice 11, barring rotation, injuries, form etc

All 4 CMs will get plenty of games though and its great to think that we can rotate in that position now without a catatrophic drop off in quality

Indeed, in the 6 week period commencing the beginning of October we have 12 league and CL matches, there will be enough minutes to go around for the midfielders.

We also have Sarr and people live Devine will be getting closer. This is all good news - central midfielders should be getting heavily rotated as well as copping natural breaks from suspensions - a healthy stable of central midfielders will push us on.

Bentancur is the only really effective progressive passer of the bunch. Skipp hasnt really demonstrated that range. Hojberg tries but his accuracy and execution is often poor. I'm hoping Bentancur is one of the more used starters due to his passing range. In an ideal world we'd bring in another passer or maybe bring Sarr back from loan as he does seem to have the range and execution.
