So, what happened today?

First stage of our holiday trip completed today. This is my first holiday in 4 years, and the first as a family of 4. Logistics nightmare with a 4 year old, a 7 months old, 3 large suitcases, 1 baby car seat and 3 pieces of hand luggage....

Made the first stage from our home town to Oslo today, and it went surprisingly well. A night's sleep at an airport hotel, and off toworrow morning to Bankok via Stockholm. Wife and kids sleeping now, so dad went down to the lobby for a well deserved beer. My word it tastes gooooooood!

Enjoy it. Much more fun taking wide eyed pre-schoolers on holiday than ungrateful, sullen teenagers. And they will confer respectability upon you, in Thai eyes, which makes everything go more smoothly.

Taking the youngest to Legoland today, it's her favourite place (I love Lego too so am excited as well)
As it's only me and her I've spent the extra for the Ultimate Queue Jump passes meaning at least we won't spend 5 hours in the hot sunshine queueing for a 90 second ride

After just over 27 months, I had my first day back in the office today.
The day started a with points failure meaning the train just sat motionless for ages and ages, shuffled forward a bit, then rinse and repeat, followed by someone taking ill on the train once we'd got past the problematic area meaning it was delayed even longer. It felt like I'd never been away.
It was a bit weird being in a noisy (ish) environment, but I actually quite enjoyed it, apart from finishing work and then having that commute back home, rather than my evening starting straight away. One or two days a week from now on will be the norm I think.
There must still be loads of people working from home though, going by the lack of cars in the station carpark.

I only go in now when I've got something social to do but went in Monday and was surprised at how many people were in Leadenhall Market, etc
Every job I speak about now I say the max I'll do is 2 days in the office and most are if needed or fully remote

Just bumped into Richard Fortus from GnR. He was off for a morning jog. Barely recognised him in his training gear. Rockstars these days.

Did you ask him if he could reimburse my ticket for tonight's show that I'm unable to attend? :p

We’ve just now had an eruption of ants and flying ants in the garden which makes me shudder as I hate the flying ones. But the upside is watching the house sparrows having an aerial feast as they swoop up to catch the ants as they take flight. I love these summer evenings.

Filming House of the Dragon (prequel to Game of Thrones) down the beach today...bit inconvenient as I just wanted to take my mum's pooch for a walk around East Head and they'd blocked it off for themselves. Cheeky bar stewards

Last night of our family moon tonight

Been a lovely week away in the Greek sunshine

have loved time away with the Mrs and my youngest

Shame we’ve had Kevin the Teenager with us who has pretty much moaned and complained about absolutely everything this week, does my head in considering we haven’t been away for 3 years and it’s week away from school in the Sun
