Lawro the Twunt says... 2021/22

It was the "misdemeanours" quote that struck me.
But having said i admire for his candour, and really people should not have to go through what these players went through.

It was a terrible convergence of all the worst ingredients. I remember it all vividly (watching live on the telly). A local Chelsea Headhunter was boasting about them going and I heard second-hand of others. Definitely some idiotic tossy Liverpool yobs in there, but there were many others there specifically to cause trouble based off ‘old scores’ (tossers all of them). UEFA were shambolic, and I remember people saying the stadium was not fit for purpose. An image which is stuck in my head are rival fans on the track with a Juve fan holding a weapon of some sort; I remember it was a pistol but could well be remembering it wrong. Lawrenson’s right though, it should be talked about so as the truth can come out, whatever the actual, full truth is. My gut feeling is UEFA were happy to have someone to 100% blame, and while I would not argue at all that some stupid Liverpool supporters were in the thick of it, there were several other ingredients including the venue and terrible organization by UEFA.

I think lawro hints at some of the stuff, i took his comment about his book as a throw away comment, buy maybe it isn't, must check if he has a bio.
Although the headline was framed in a certain way for me the interview was totally different. It sounded almost like a bit of a plea for help, why aren't we talking about this for closure or whatever. I would assume the players were offered counselling, maybe not, maybe some didn't take it and now regret it.
I don't know him at all, but he came across well in that clip and he is obviously hurting about it, can't think what that must have been like for them.

Edit, he has a bio from 1988, £35 on amazon. No real reviews or info.

Liverpool even had their parade on the anniversary of it this year. It shows how little thought is given to it.
