Saudi Sportswashing Machine

It can be time consuming getting yourself out of contracts. Maybe this was the only one that they could conclude on time.

It will be a real test for the PL's new related parties sponsorship controls. We all know that the plan will be to get a Saudi company to sponsor them at an inflated rate
Why do you say that?
That sounds a bit racist mate.
Can you back that up? Like, maybe with an example or something? Sounds like pie in the sky really.
Pffft.....

I would be happy to see the end of all betting company sponsors. Much worse than fags and drink which are already banned.

I welcome the cultural advances of not preying on weakness, illnesss and addiction.

isn’t that just every major corporation that is willing to shell out ridiculous amounts of money…they all have their skeletons of how and why they operate

It’s the core business and primary function I object too. I don’t really care if a big washing machine manufacturer or a holiday company have been overly competitive.

Do Saudi Sportswashing Machine have a chance of top 4 next season? Since jan they got 2 points a game, more than us (1.95) only city and liverpool got more. Arsenal got 1.79. Chelsea 1.77. Utd 1.35.

They've made a couple of decent signings aswell. Botman, pope and target strengthen their backline. Sure they will add some more.

I think they'll miss out on top 4 but think they'll be challenging.

I'd ignore that bounce.
Over a proper season their squad is very average.
If they have a West ham type where Chris Wood gets the Midas touch then they could push for EL.
Otherwise it's 9th

Is their squad that far off of west hams now though?

The Saudi Sportswashing Machine fan I know seems to think there was a lot of hot air around the take over, and while they spent a bit to stay up, they really are going to settle for being a top 10/Villa and Everton rival, rather than really pushing on.

It's two or three game changers away.
They don't have an Antonio - unless Wood hits a patch.
And someone like Coufal makes a massive difference.

They don't have a Soucek - that's the huge difference. He elevates West Ham 4 league places on his own.
West Ham have a slightly better squad, but not massively.
Take Soucek out and they are 9th/10th.

A few shrewd signings would elevate Saudi Sportswashing Machine - they have a solid base

yeah, it was as much about strength of schedule as it was Howe

I feel a good start is essential for them, they were carried along with the support the crowd gave them after the sale, but their fans can be brutal when things aren't going well.

And they still have a relegation level forward line.
It could go very wrong very quickly.

I think they’re in the mix with West Ham, Leicester, Goons and Wolves for the last European spot. Think Utd will improve this season and push beyond this group.

no-one wants to live up there ;)

The weather is crap but it's a lovely part of the country and you can buy some lovely property. I know footballers would be missing out on The National Gallery, Tate modern, Covent Garden and museums, but there are loads of clubs and drunk young women.
