The government of British Columbia will decriminalise small amounts of illegal substances for personal use as part of a pilot scheme.

Canadians aged 18 and above will be permitted to possess up to 2.5g of opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine, and MDMA in hopes of curbing the raging opioid crisis in North America and Canada.

The BC government recently released a statement giving a three-year exemption from Canada’s federal drug control law, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The concentrated pilot scheme aims to gather evidence around small scale decriminalisation in tackling problematic drug use. It means that no arrests, prosecutions, or seizures will be made for personal possession of fewer than 2.5g between January 31, 2023 and January 31, 2026.

The exemption, according to Health Canada, does not decriminalise actions such as drug trafficking, production, importation, or exportation of illegal substances. It is also not applicable at primary or secondary schools, child-care institutions, or airports. It also does not apply to Canadians who are subject to the disciplinary code of the military.

Just back from five days in Montreal attending a family wedding and taking a mini-vac with Mrs. Norf. What a city! Can't recommend it highly enough. Great place to walk or bicycle and take in the vibrant life at street level. So many good places to eat, interesting stores to shop in, parks to wander around and fun events to enjoy.

I loved it from the first time I visited in 1980 and love it even more today. Had my French been a bit better back then, I'd probably have found work there. Life worked out well enough anyway and Montreal is still there, better than ever, to give another embrace to.

Always wanted to travel in Canada ( got a old biking buddy in Alberta who has always said we are welcome to stay). Been lucky enouh to have worked and played in many places but never got around to Canada ( always fancied the train journeys there). Never too late though so who knows.

Antigen Test Question

My eldest goes to Paris on Saturday
She leaves St Pancras at 8am and arrives in Paris at 11.30am
Can we do the Antigen test tomorrow before she leaves for school (7.45am) or should we wait until she gets home at 3pm ?
It's one of those where we send a picture of the test in and we receive a pdf fit to travel document back

c) Send a photo of the test at 12pm with nobody having put the sample stick anywhere near their orifices.

Didn't manage to get a picture (they're doing the lyrics on a screen), but they've changed the opening verse to include Ukraine.

Now listen to my heart
It says Ukrainia

Currently watching Scorpions play. Next week it's Judas Priest and Guns N' Roses on consecutive days. It's gonna be rough.

Was going to see Guns'n Roses in Stavanger, but unfortunately I'm unable to attend. :( Trying to sell my ticket, but no luck so far. Do you know someone in need of a ticket at face value (or even small discount)?

I did, but then I discovered they had released more tickets. Sorry.
