Filip Kostic

Isn't he about to turn 30 and only has a year left on his contract though?

This is going to be a really interesting element to how Levy operates with Conte in charge... will he spend money on players he won't be able to recoup on, will there be a balance, if Conte wants a load of 28-30 year olds will Levy do it.

at 12-15m we should get this bloke in ASAP, looked really good in the Europa when I watched Frankfurt.

Will be interesting for sure. My thoughts on the matter:

The medium to long term will always have some priority with us. I think less so right now than most of the time in the past.

On individual players the cost will be decisive I imagine. Signing a somewhat older player that isn't very expensive won't be much of an issue I'd guess. Bit like Doherty under Mourinho. Whereas the more expensive signings will probably have to have a good number of years left in them.

As a whole I imagine mostly players more towards their early twenties, or at least more twenties. We can't put ourselves in a situation where we need a new rebuild in 2-3 years.

Having more money to spend should allow us to sign more from the higher end of those young/youngish, but already very good category. If those are the players Conte and Paratici want.

Signing this guy to compete with Sessegnon and selling Reguilòn would make a lot of sense to me. It feels like an upgrade while not breaking the bank.

Agreed, if you think Kostic at 12-15m coupled with say... Bastoni for £50m - seems a good short/mid and long term balance to me. Could keep everyone sweet.

Makes a lot of sense to me too, there's a player in Regulion I think but reckon Conte wants to go with Sess and someone more experienced like a Kostic, Regulion will have some decent sell on value too I imagine.

Think there is a danger with Reggy and the buy back, always have that hanging over us - if he does turn out to be top class Real with just get him back and we are stuck

What's his defending like? Seen plenty to suggest he can carry the ball, cross etc but not seen much on his defensive ability.

I don't think its a good idea. We might start looking like Hoddle's early team. Already 3/4s of our forwards are in that age bracket.

We actually need to be signing 23-24 year olds - like Paratici's signings so far have tended to be. They aren't as young/cheap as the Alli/Dier signings of old, but they are entering rather than leaving their peak.

He has got a great record with getting the best out of older players he can trust. We will be signing more established players rather than youngsters.
