Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

I simply cannot value the opinion of anyone who has willfully had Piers Morgan's rooster in them.

On a more general note, don't let the games of politics steal your focus. Real politics is the stuff that matters - Ukraine, the economy, personal freedom, etc.

This stuff is just frippery. Your life would be precisely the same had everybody gone home and not had a drink that night. Not a single life would have been saved, the economy wouldn't be a penny stronger. This is the political equivalent of tabloid gossip columns.

Its not the drink or the parties that bother me, if he can't construct laws that he isn't going to fall foul then he is an oaf.
I have sympathy for every government in the world that had to deal with covid, yes even the snp GHod help me, handled correctly i don't think anyone would have grudged a responsible government having slightly more leeway, but he fudged that up.

At this point I think the only thing that could get rid of Boris is a photo of him taking a dump on a picture of the Queen. And even then Fabriclam will come out to defend him

Hypocrisy is the absolute worst crime of all for any politician. It's lost him all authority now

You're absolutely right - creating those laws is what he did wrong.

I think it's the worst thing (of an incredibly long list) any govt in my lifetime has done. But the public don't seem to think so - they think cowering and spending my money was the right thing to do.

The only point that should be taken from these is they were not scared of Covid, they were not bothered.

This should be recalled next time there are screams for lockdown and also let’s not forget the cost of living crisis would be worse under Labour as we would have been in longer and harder, whilst they also seem unbothered.

The real crime here is the lockdowns and the fallout from them.

Probably a good time for you to refresh yourself on the "R number" and how airborne transmission at close proximity works.

Absolutely. Has been from the start.

I'm using the Boris Defence too then if I'm ever accused of committing a crime: "I didn't realise I was breaking a rule, Officer"

Labour are being weak on this. They should be calling for a General Election on the grounds of sleaze. That would spook the Tory MPs into doing the deed.

Unless Labour are calculating that BJ is actually now their best ticket to a landslide?

Sorry but this viewpoint is complete and utter nonsense. If Boris and his government can’t be relied upon to act with basic honesty and integrity or indeed competence with regards to these supposedly minor transgressions than on what way shape or form are they in any way fit to deal with the major issues of the day.

They are beyond incompetent and corrupt and must by unceremoniously booted out asap

I don't expect any politician to have honesty or integrity, it would be naïve and foolish to do so. I don't care about anyone's reasoning for what they do, it's the affect their actions have that matter to me.

What actual, measurable difference would Johnson being honest have made to your life? If he'd gone home instead of attending that party, how much richer or healthier would you be?
