Ben Davies

Feck he's been playing in a three for the last 6/7 years for Wales plus a few times for Swansea, people need get out of the M25 more lol.

Same goes for Rodon, cant understand how Sanchez gets so much game time he's played so much in that position too.

Think we need one top centre back but I’m not too bothered if he’s left or right footed. I’d put Dier and Davies on par and with the injuries of Romero a right footer might actually be the wiser choice.

Left footed CB would be a clear priority for me. I guess a right footed CB who is really good with his left and class on the ball would be fine, but not that many of them around.

We have 6 centre backs in total now. 5 of them right footed. One injury to Davies and we have no natural LCB to fall back on. None. Zero. That would significantly impact how we could play.

Rotation is less of an issue at CB I think, but the workload will go up if Davies or other centre backs will be expected to start the majority of games. With that increased risk of injuries.

We cannot go into next season without at least another natural LCB as an option to Davies.

Sanchez is much criticised, but he's a much better RCB cover than any of our players are LCB covers.

Not to say we need to sign Bastoni or some other high profile, massively expensive LCB. But at least an option. And when strengthening it's better if we can sign as good a player as possible.

Wouldn't be unhappy with Davies as our first choice next season at all mind. Think he's been really good and in some ways deserves to keep his place. If we sign someone good, but not great/outstanding I wouldn't be surprised if Davies kept/win his starting role. But competition is good, a better player would be better, cover is necessary.
