Champions League 22/23 - Round of 16: AC Milan

  • What is the extra cash Paratici can bank on from the CL? What is it worth from extra stadium profits and TV money? For the club's commercials of course it goes beyond this, attracting sponsors etc.
  • Who can we face in the group stages? No English sides?
  • How far can we go? All the way this time? Conte's systems should lend themselves to cup competitions.
  • Do we start in the group stages? So first game would be in September?

Group stage
Matchday 1: 6/7 September 2022
Matchday 2: 13/14 September 2022
Matchday 3: 4/5 October 2022
Matchday 4: 11/12 October 2022
Matchday 5: 25/26 October 2022
Matchday 6: 1/2 November 2022

Looks like we'll be in pot 2. If Liverpool win the CL they'll go into pot 1, otherwise it will be Ajax.

Pot 1:
CL winner
Eintracht Frankfurt
Emirates Marketing Project
Real Madrid
AC Milan
Bayern Munich
PSG
Porto

Pot 2:
Chelsea
Barcelona
Juventus
Atletico Madrid
Sevilla
Leipzig
Tottenham
.

Pot 3:
Dortmund
Salzburg
Shaktar Donetsk
Inter
Napoli
Sporting
Bayer Leverkusen
.

Pot 4:
Marseille
Club Brugge
Celtic
.
.
.
.
.

Six places to be filled through qualifiers.

Pot 3 has some decent teams in it - Inter, Napoli, Dortmund etc. Thinking about it we performed so well to get out of the group stages every time we qualified bar one.

Not sure who I fancy - we've kind of played all the other big 12 Super League clubs in the last decade, except Athletico (who are in our pot anyway).

So maybe something like: Frankfurt, Napoli and Marseille (the Chris Waddle derby) would be good. New teams to see, but good old fashioned classic clubs too.

The first 3 months of the season are going to be a killer. Looks like it'll be 2 matches per week until the start of the WC. We need depth big time.

I would not mind one of the 6 qualifiers as our Pot 4 pick. Somebody like Malmo or Copenhagen if they can get through

I think we play better against the better teams. So I wouldn't mind a strong group. If we have to break down park-the-bus sides we're in trouble.
Except Chelsea? Though I think we're much improved and hardened since we last met, and they are in a very precarious position on the business end. Cheeky bid for anyone there?
