Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Just found out I can’t hire an au pair from outside the UK now post Brexit. Walob!
That's not a consequence of Brexit, it's a consequence of a government trying to win votes from brickhole parts of the north. No good reason why we shouldn't be able to hire people from anywhere in the world but northerners will just shout about them "stealing our jobs"

but an au pair is, by definition, an individual from overseas, how can they justify killing an entire industry like that

can you setup an ltd to do it :D

madness

I have limited company but would have to apply for a visa as something else like teacher or musician as au pair is not on the list.

The whole point was to stop wages being undercut by preventing the social dumping of unskilled labourers. This is exactly what Brexit is supposed to do. Hire someone who is using a foodbank.

If you’re in the EU there are Au Pair programs. Here nothing. So Scara is right we have had new divergent laws. Can’t understand why we wouldn’t let young people from oversees have the opportunity to work here helping families.

Because they are unskilled. If they aren't bright enough to get a tier 4 visa, why bring them across?

why would we want to force Brits into unskilled jobs they don’t want?

Is the Tory aim to fuk the economy so we bring back the working classes? Instead of getting educated and earning more let’s get people waiting outside the docks for casual work (aka zero hours) or fruit picking to make ends meet?

So you have a solution.

I have no idea if one could do this or not. Presumably if you apply for a specific visa you have to prove you have skills or competences in that area. And the company has to apply to be able to bring in workers. So it has to be a little more complex than that. Not sure I’d be comfortable with effectively lying to immigration.

I could pay for an education course that might be a way.

Actually the people missing from the workforce are students. Cut their loans and get them back filling the casual part time roles

Hopefully also the week Sue Grey brings BJ down. Especially when she publishes the rumoured about 'Maggie Dust' photo, of him at the Cabinet table, cutting coke with the contents of Thatcher's urn

Why would her ashes be at downing street?

Ah, i see a joke.
Fudge me hurry up and get the match on my nerves are frayed and I'm as jumpy as fudge!
