*** Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley OMT ***

Random moment of the day for me
Queuing up for the loo and there was a Korean lad behind me. He started chatting and was asking alls sorta of questions about sonny and the ground… then asked do we have papers in the toilet.
Being a Brit I had to ask did he mean reading paper or toilet paper. He of course meant the latter and apparently they don’t always have it in Korea… I’ve never been so be warned if that’s true

Bet they didn't call Liverpool's practically identical CL final penalty "contentious".

Also "another"? That's just taking the tinkle. Son's penalty against Arse was clear as day.
They were both clear as day. Today was a matter of the handball law needing a tweak. Those bell ends really, deeply, desperately want The Goon Amazon Hour to have that happy ending. Cnuts.

Exactly
The rule is the issue for the perspective of the critiques, not he the ref
One thing I’ll say…. nick pope made a save today where the ball hit his arm in almost the same spot it hit the guy for the pen … if a keeper can do it with his arms, a player shouldn’t be able too as otherwise why have keepers :(;):)

Same in much of Asia including the "developed" countries.

Just saw it on MOTD2. It was a definite penalty. That can't be called contentious - his arm is out. I'd have given that one before the one we got the other night to be honest.

Jenas and Shearer talking nonsense.

I agree. His arm is out before the ball is anywhere near and I still can't work out wtf he was trying to do, there's no argument that it was for balance or as a follow through from a previous action, It's actually quite bizarre the way he's held it out.

Why do we continue to be so poor against teams who sit back? Is it :

1.the lack of pace, power, skill and crossing ability of our wing backs ?

2. the lack of creativity and/or goals from our central midfielders ?

3 our usually very poor corners and free kicks ?

4. Our lack of goals from anyone other than Kane or Son?

5. Our lack of goals from our centre halves coming up for dead balls?

6. Our generally inaccurate shooting from range?

7. Any others and/or a combination of the above .

Its only contentious or soft because the ball was going nowhere and there was zero chance we were going to score from it

Combination of 1 and 2 IMO.

Liverpool play similarly to us - 5 players who hold the middle of the pitch...with us its 3 CBs and 2 holding CMs, with them its 2 CBs and 3CMs who dont attack much

However their full back are effectively wing backs and threaten far more than ours do

So either we need to improve a lot there, or change our approach and get more creativity (which Conte wont do)

All of the above. Missing Romero and Kulusevski definitely doesn't help.

It's also just a rather difficult thing in general.

Thought we did at least as well at could be expected in that regard given the circumstances (previous performances in those circumstances, absentees, short turnover).

Yes, I don’t think it can be overstated enough how physically and mentally drained the players - plus the sickness! - must’ve been after Pool away and Thursday. Amazing resilience to get the job done, given the circumstances. Well done all.
