*** Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley OMT ***

They have Villa away and Saudi Sportswashing Machine at home after us, and a better GD than Leeds (who play Brighton and Brentford)

I think a point today for them would be a great result and they dont need to chase 3

Problem is them though is with them batting first, can they gamble on Leeds not beating Brighton later on. They are in a similar boat to us at Anfield, although a point would be good for them like it was for us, deep down I think they really know they need to be winning this to give them the best chance

And all thanks to Arsenal’s crying off a match due to ONE case of Covid. And then crying off due to not being allowed to bearhug, kick, elbow and push the opponents without being penalised for it.

Fixture scheduling reminds me of when we played Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime after our European tie on the Thursday night against Sevilla. The FA love to help us… oh wait.

Still not forgotten. As I have quoted it myself a few times on here in the past. Imagine Klopp if Liverpool ever had to do that. His teeth would explode

Don't understand the rationale of having two keepers on the bench, rather than the young RB who made the first team squad once or twice or a young LB. Perhaps its an indication of where our younger players are in their development

Likely FA decision… Because it helps out Arsenal most probably. I mean they get an extra 32 hours rest than us.

I blame TV. I know its only 2 hours, but we should at least have been kicking off at 2pm with the other fixtures, or because we played Thursday night we should have been allocated the 4.30pm slot.
Why did Everton get that one, if any game should have been 12noon (if they insisted on having one), it was that game

You are probably right but why do we get this slot and Arsenal the Monday night? And the FA have shown us previously where their allegiance is likely to lay.

I guess at least Thursday night wasn’t exactly difficult and players played at a reduced tempo for the majority of the second half.

It’s not disastrous. An early home game keeps travelling Northern support absent or quiet, and uncertainty about future results might dissuade Burnley from parking the bus for a draw. Anyway, we’re going to win.

It`s typical that 2 of our more influential players since they signed ( Kulu and Romero ) are missing from the starting line up. But I think we will win this today. I don`t think Burnley can afford to sit back and hope for a draw then rely on other results going their way later in the day. If they upset the odds and win and Leeds lose later they are pretty much assured of prem football next year. I know it wouldn`t be a certainty but can they afford to sit back?

Don't know what Lucas does to get in to the team in front of Bergwijn

Conte, Nuno, Jose and Poch can't all have had it wrong - I can only guess Conte's reasoning but reckon commitment and hard work would come in to it, but perhaps it's more of a positional thing ie if Son was out would Bergwijn come in to the fray as he's more comfortable on the left cutting in..

Over the years I have been to a few of these last of the season home matches. Most have been very sorry affairs with the players minds obviously elsewhere. But it won't be like that today, with Conte in charge and a slim chance of champions league at stake. The players should be up for it and the crowd can lift the spirits again. We need to win today, so I won't watch the game live, I didn't watch the last game so I can't break a winning formulae. They need the points so will be up for this. Use the crowd to our advantage again and stay focused then we won't lose. A score draw is probably the most likely outcome. Spurs win 5-0.

I think its a free hit for them. Aside from today:

- home games: Burnley have Saudi Sportswashing Machine to play, Leeds have Brighton. Similar games as neither opposition have anything to play for
- away games: Burnley go to Villa, Leeds go to Brentford. Again, similar games as neither opposition have anything to play for

Given Burnley have a better GD, a point for them today is huge as Leeds would need 2 points to get above them

This is my thinking. As just mentioned on BT Sport, with their GD they know 2 wins is enough. Today is a bit of a free hit for them, they can afford to go for it today knowing if they lose they still have 2 more shots at it. If Leeds were to win later, a point is not much use to Burnley as they would still need 2 wins to be sure, as they cant pick up 5pts in 2 games
