*** Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley OMT ***

I was listening to 5 live the other day and Michael Brown who apparently does some work for Burnley was saying that since Dyche left they have been caught between two stools a little with Michael Jackson ( shamo muthafudger ) trying to get Burnley playing a bit more expansively so I'm hoping that plays right into our hands.

So we have Burnley caught between two stools and Kulu caught up in a Pooh pooh drama.

Insight from Michael BROWN.

This game will be a sh*tfest.

In Conte’s System We Trust. He has already shown he can adjust to missing playas (D’oherty and Reggie), and I’m confident that he can get us to do our thing with success the next two games. And the next few seasons…

Yes, agreed - shows the benefit of relying on a system rather than individuals.

Our right side today though could be Sanchez, Royal, Moura (!). Some good pace there, but not going to be the opposition with skill!

A confident win would be good, but really any win will do. A scrappy, lucky, Var-complain last minute winner, anything.

Simply must show up from the start, show our class. Bring the confidence from the recent games in from the first whistle.

Like many, I’m a bit nervous about us “doing a Spurs” but the one thing that settles the nerves is the manager. Not only do I have faith in him and his tactics but I wouldn’t want to be going back into the dressing room to face him without 3 points if I was a player today.

Was it David Pleat standing in for Conte when we lost to Brighton at home?

I read somewhere that he left training early as he was ill. Fingers crossed he makes it, however against a team which will park the bus, potentially a more dribbly player like Moura or Bergwijn could be more useful?
Park the bus? They need points. Don't think they can afford just sit back and defend for a draw. But if they score first, it will be difficult. So we need to get the 1st goal.

Haha fair point.

Felt like it a bit although in Pleatys last reign we tended to go a couple of goals up before self destruction in style. It was not just sexy but ultra sexy (City and Leicester spring to mind). This is confirmation bias but Conte was laid up with Covid that week and there was no preceding win over Woolwich to give us momentum. We'll win this today.

They have Villa away and Saudi Sportswashing Machine at home after us, and a better GD than Leeds (who play Brighton and Brentford)

I think a point today for them would be a great result and they dont need to chase 3

You get the impression that any good work done up to now goes out the window if we poop the bed today.
Fudge up now and conte will have you out the door.
He wants winners, they are playing for their futures.

After Brighton a think a few more got added to the out list.

Hugo Lloris
Emerson Royal
Davinson Sanchez
Eric Dier
Ben Davies
Ryan Sessegnon
Pierre- Emil Højbjerg
Bentancur
Heung-Min Son
Harry Kane
Lucas Moura

I don’t see us conceding and if we don’t concede then we will win. Son to score 2, Harry to score 1. 3-0 final result. And in to watching and cheering for Saudi Sportswashing Machine on Monday night.

Moura not the most popular on here but I think his energy will be appreciated considering the quick turnaround + no other options to change any other player.

As seen before, it's a wonderful thing having Kulu on the bench.

Hope the players are feeling more spritly than I am on this fine early Sunday morning!

Team news at 11am. A history first. As Spurs become the first time to have to kick-off at 12noon on a Sunday after playing Thursday night. Thanks FA

And all thanks to Arsenal’s crying off a match due to ONE case of Covid. And then crying off due to not being allowed to bearhug, kick, elbow and push the opponents without being penalised for it.

Fixture scheduling reminds me of when we played Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime after our European tie on the Thursday night against Sevilla. The FA love to help us… oh wait.
