The Limp Struggle to Sneak into the top 4 2021/22

Agreed. You could be here for the rest of time looking at where points were dropped. That's the beauty/heartache of football - for a low scoring game in one off matches, where small incidents have disproportionate consequences. You could assess the marginal moments Arsenal have gained from this season - the 94th minute equaliser at home to Palace; Fernandes' penalty miss; Chelsea treating their game like a testimonial etc.

One against us which spring to mind is that ludicrous decision to disallow the goal at Soton for a ‘foul’ on Forster. Scandelous!

Trippier was quality for us. He's exactly what we need at the moment, unfortunately, but I can understand why he left.

He was decent but he has the problem of being a right wing back playing as a right back. Defensively he wasn’t as strong and we were often countered down his side. His attacking play was great and I’m disappointed that it didn’t work out for him as he’s he would have been perfect in our system now and he clearly has passion. So I rate the guy, rate his attacking play but he wasn’t quite the right fit for us at the time.

Should've had Trippier now and Royal then.

What's more likely?

Chelsea to lose both remaining games or Arse to drop points in one?

Chelsea have Leicester at home next, I can see the Foxes totally rolling over for them. Even then Watford at home to finish, I can only think of one easier opponent to finish with.
Although, I think I could live with it if with finished 4th behind Arsenal because Chelsea had lost the last 2 games. That would be hailarious

Chelsea won't be fazed, if they miss CL, but the last thing we want is Woolwich getting a boost. So I don't really like the idea of them qualifying, even if we do too.

Remember the new spending rules come in the end of next season. So your turnover next season will decide your budget for the one after. Wages, agent fees and amortisation must be under 90% of turnover. It will drop to 80% the season after then 70%. Cl is huge for all 3 of us next season.

I've lived in this world long enough to know that if that happened, UEFA would find an excuse for the rent boys to qualify for the CL at our expense.

Well we have forced it into a last day showdown for 4th, Didnt see that coming a few months back, 2pts behind Chelsea too now. Oh what could have been

Please Saudi Sportswashing Machine just give it your best, if its not good enough, so be it. A home win would be amazing meaning we dont have to win at Norwich, but that 2pts gap and better GD does mean Arsenal HAVE to win at least one of their last 2 games, 2 draws wont do them

Yep, we’d be solid in 3rd had we been able to start the season with Conte.
