Rodrigo Bentancur

He's so good and so much of what we needed. A passing capable CM and press resistant. Having to eat h the likes of Sissoko in midfield had many forget what a quality CM actually looks like. Think I love him already.

What an amazing player. So calm and smooth and intelligent too - pure joy to watch.
Bless you both for going first. I love this man, he has guile, grace, panache, he sees passes that in a mear mortal don't exist, he even manages to make hard crunching tackles look sexy, what a baller!! We need a song.

Very good again.

Stood out more in the first half when we struggled to break them down. Great to have another player that plays well and raises our game when we're not at our best rather than depending on all other cogs on the machine functioning to play well.

Becoming a big fan of him.

As others have said he is a CM player we have lacked for a long time, he is a talker as well which is important in the M/F.

He is an odd player
He has a bit of everything
He also plays so composed
I saw him play in Italy and he was very “functional” but here he has some flair which really suits us and him
What’s been key is he has got up to the speed of the league very quickly which we all know is something some players under some managers can’t do

The bit I can’t understand is that I look at this lad and he looks a proper player. Tough, bit of a brickhouse, great on the ball, great movement.

Why on earth don’t Juve fans rate him and why did they sell him? Everything I’ve seen from him suggests he should have ripped it up in Serie A. Can’t get my head around it.

He won 3 league titles there and he played every week
They are a club that are caught in a rut so blame certain players, especially when they leave
He isn’t a big name either dont forget
He is better than McKiney and I like him, but Rodrigo is just better at everything so far
He is miles better than Rabiot who is gash
LocatelIi ain’t a cM in the same mould but is a very good player so their whole team is just poorly balanced

Didn't see him towards the end of his time at Juve, but saw him some earlier when he looked very good.

Reportedly they tried playing him as the deepest player in a playmaker role, asking him to be Pirlo-esque player. Our style of play and the role he has here now suits him a lot better.

Because under Allegri he was played in a system/position/role that did not suit him and bring out the best of him. Same story with Kulusevski.

Was also watching the game today, what a great contribution today for Brighton. We should sign him just for that tbh.
He has been very good for them in the games he has played but he has been injured for a while. They are a better team when he starts.

After a really bright start I've been somewhat underwhelmed by Bentancur recently, or at the very least whelmed.

Perhaps he's getting more attention from opposition, they know they can't give him time and space now. But would have liked to see him grab hold of things a bit more. Instead there's been too many slow touches and losses of possession. Not quite as many top quality tackles either.

Hopefully just a slight blip, natural inconsistency after arriving in a new league and system from a still fairly young player.

Would like to see one or two real stellar performances from him this season. Really show what he can do.

I think the pace Liverpool played at caught him out a bit, that and pressure we under restricted our forward movement which limited his options.
He has not been at the standard he was in his first couple of matches. It’s been 3 or 4 games where he hasn’t been great. Obviously he had the new transfer pop but i think now he is adapting to the various tactical game we have over here with every team setting up in different ways home and away.

If he can get the dwelling on the ball too long out of his system it would improve his game.
