U23s, Academy and Loanees

Cheats gonna cheat.
Congrats on purchasing a trophy.

It's more important to produce 1st team regulars than win trophies for academies. I played in a team with the captain of Chelseas 1960s Cup winners and only Barry Bridges came out of that team.

Would he not benefit more from another year in loan? Only current playing at league one level - let's give him a year in the Champ

I agree. He's not ready for us and it won't do his development any good being third choice. Give him some minutes in preseason and then send him to a Championship club that will play him every week.

Mk Dons could go up and they love him.

We are delighted to announce that Alfie Dorrington has signed his first professional contract with the Club.

The central defender, who celebrated his 17th birthday on Wednesday, joined our Academy at the age of 13 and went full-time with us as a scholar last summer.

An England Under-17 international, he stepped up to make three appearances for our Under-18s during the 2020/21 campaign while still a schoolboy and has played 24 times in all competitions at that level so far this term, scoring once.

My youngest and her friends are very excited about this as he went to her school, in her year. She has no stories of villainy or Haribo-fuelled debauchery to share, though. A very nice chap by all accounts.

Did he finger her behind the bike sheds?

Is that the sort of thing daughter's share with their fathers. Was always asking my son if he is out fingering birds. He told me "we call then women now" if it was not for the fact he has a girlfriend I would swear he was a woofter.

Your son sounds like an upstanding young man of excellent moral character. Have you considered paternity testing?
