Manager Sack Watch

Absolutely batbrick call

Best English manager and he’s performed miracles at Burnley.

I’ve had a scan through a forum message board and they are not happy, when a team is getting relegated abs the fans still back the manager you know it’s the wrong call to sack him.

Could see them falling through the leagues

Wow. Just seen this. Not seen any rumours about this during the week either.
It seems a pretty bad way to treat him given he has usually had them outperforming expectations but as others have said, maybe there's more to it behind the scenes then just a relegation fight.

Its looks like i am in the minority with this but i dislike Burnley ( and the way they play) and that is down to him. Will not miss either him or the club.

Very strange decision. Think they might be in serious trouble. It was a leveraged buyout leaving the club in a lot of debt. Relegation could possibly lead to them not being able to pay that debt.

Maybe that caused the owners to panic. It seems no successful businessman who takes over a football club is immune from bad decision making.

It's their Charlton Curbishley moment.
Enjoy League 1 obscurity in 4 years.

Might have just kept Everton up too.

Could be less than 4 years. Can't find this years accounts that would have details of how much debt they are in due to the takeover. Or how much wages and amortisation they pay. But it is possible they could quite quickly go into administration leading to a points deduction.

We need to ban leveraged buyouts.

Parachute payments, saleable assets and creative accounting - they'll be find for a few years financially.
Wouldn't they'd be left with on the pitch is very different.

They seem to bring decent enough youth players through.
But of course it all depends on who the manager is.

They used their cash reserves to part pay for the club. £40m. The interest on their debt is believed to be 9%. Yes they can sell players but that makes it harder to come back up.

You might be right and they'll be fine. But i think they are in trouble.
