Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

This insistence by some people to find little things to criticise Hojbjerg is pretty sad. He is a good player and has been for us, the vast majority of his poor performances have been when he's being played three times in a week.
He literally never gets rested and thats not his fault. If he was this weak link some like to portray him to be, he would not be getting picked literally every game by every manager we've had since he's been here....

I don’t know why people tend to have one way opinions. PEH played very good when he first introduced to the team. But it was obvious that his for affected by too many matches after the euro and he isn’t and wasn’t a technical player at any point, so the lack of stamina affect the major strength in his game.

Tbf that was one of Hojbjerg's better performances recently.

But when he's playing poorly and things don't go his way he is prone to blaming others for his mistakes, eg when he misplaces a pass, and generally has a habit of giving up too easily when he loses possession.

Not exactly the kind of traits you associate with a leader in my book.

PEH needs to be aware of that behavior and have it coached out of him. I don't mind if players want to point to others about where they think the ball should move to (just don't do it in our own penalty box), but there can be a point where that gets tiresome and moot.
He can be a hard-working player, that's what we saw his first season, but he needs to show that drive for every match. That's an asset and I'm glad he's got some competition, he needs something to think about.

Another typical PEH standard performance today. Bentencur wasnt great either mind you, but PEH brings us nothing. Adding a decent CM who can pass the ball and support attacks would bring a big uplift in our performances

I'm sick of this guy, standing doing nothing but pointing, not even fudging looking at where he's pointing, just pointing and passing responsibility.

Played well IMO and was the main reason that we were able to dominate possession away from home against Man Utd. We ended up losing because our more attacking players couldn’t make enough of the good possession we had and Regi and Romero defended like schoolboys for Man Utd’s 2nd and 3rd goals…. But hey, it’s easier to criticise a bit of a marmite player than look at the real reasons why we didn’t come away with any points.

I thought he had a good game as well.

Personally, I’m not a big PEH fan but thought him, Kulusevski and Romero were the best of our bunch yesterday. I agree with your post but think Reggie, who did have a bad game, was a little unfortunate on the second goal and don’t hold him completely responsible. Romero is at fault for the third.

PEH was also miles better than Bentancur yesterday.

Could not agree more, seems he has taken over as the fall guy.

Think he's really starting to look better. Moving the ball a bit quicker and with more accuracy when under pressure.

Obviously not top class at that, never will be, but looking tidier, more effective.

Adjusting to a new style can take time, hopefully he'll continue to adjust.

He is a much better player then some have tried to make out, he works hard and allthough he may not make the team every game he is a solid squad player. imo
