Dele Alli

He symbolises a lot of the good and bad at spurs over the 10 years.
Much like trippier and lamela his hard work and role in the team was there as support for our big three, but when roles and attitudes changed they were all too quickly jettisoned, side lined or repurposed. That's not their fault.
There is no doubting the talents of our players, but the team dynamics hasn't worked for a while and it is time we moved on.
Good luck dele, you will always be one of us in my eyes.

Fair enough you are entitled to your opinions, agree to disagree I guess.

I am just pleased we have shedded the wasters during this window and hopefully added two made of the right stuff. We should now have a squad of very determined sob’s ready to put it all on the line for Conte and hopefully fire us to the CL.

Btw special mention to sanchez, doherty and winks who with desire and application have turned it around and made themselves important players in Conte’s squad.

I suspect that a bonus from the transfer window will be the increase in the morale of the squad after we have got rid of the three Big Time Charlie lazy sulkers - Ndombele, Lo Celso and Alli. I agree that Alli is slightly different as he has been great in a Spurs shirt whereas the other two did nothing. However, as we have seen with many others whose names are long forgotten, Alli became consumed by his own ego and once he sported that comical hairstyle I knew he wasn't travelling on the road back but on the road to nowhere.

PS I wrote this before the above was posted which I think is making the same point.

Completely. The squad feels like it should be a lot more united and professional without any distractions. Feels like they should be able to focus now on getting top 4

I'd say you are great fun at parties, nothing but negativity...

He provided a lot of enjoyable moments and was a major part of the best team we've had in a long time.
It's not all about trophies, if it was then why follow Spurs? Why not go and follow City and give us a break from the negativity?
The enjoyment on a game to game basis is what keeps fans coming back, not the one off rush of winning a final (although a few of those would be nice).

As others have pointed out, he's enjoying his life and doing nothing wrong, if that's what makes someone a bellend in your life...

You can be thankful for what once was but also realise that it's gone and wish the player well for what he once gave.

He is Dutch. They speak their mind clearly. Perhaps that is one reason I understand him. I have quite a few Dutch colleagues and friends. He means no malice. He is also (apart from a few words which I don't agree with) speaking the 'truth' for the most part.

Dele brought us good memories but then something changed either interest or physical ability dropping. At the time he left we were mostly glad not to see him on the team sheet for key games. That is not disputable.

I find it interesting that Everton has Iwobi and Dele, two dual nationality Nigerian kids who made different choices and were once touted to have JJ Okocha's skill set. Both of them also dropped in performance. Their games should be interesting.

Dele was part of an amazing era under Poch and thats how he will be remembered, I guess that's why some are a little upset about the move; however his last few years have been turgid, slow and very sluggish.

Good uck to the lad he seems like he needs to get back to basics, turn off his social media, a change of scene may help. The kid still has talent.

The whole team has been sluggish and turgid, with or without dele, the problem goes deeper than just dele.
Here's hoping conte can change that, if anyone can then conte can.

Think you replied to your own thoughts there, i agree with the whole team in general, but there have been flashes of brilliance from Kane, Moura, Son etc ... not so much with Dele .... Conte is changing that and i think Conte had seen enough from Dele to allow him to be sold ... quite damming

I don't think its damming at all, he doesn't fit conte methods.
Conte wanted to freeze out Eriksen, was that damming?
Players like dele don't become bad players, should lampard prove to a decent manager i would expect to see dele revive his form.

Eriksen was signed by Conte and towards the middle-end of the title-winning season was used a decent amount. Plus Eriksen had been borderline pants in form in the last 6 months at Spurs.

Lampard could show Dele the player he was, the player that we all thought Dele was going to kick on and be. Good luck to the lad, but he looks bulky, slow and shot of composure, lacking that instinct when he burst onto the scene.

I still don't really get us letting Dele go. The money seems crap. He was homegrown. He played well against Liverpool a few weeks back. I suppose I am having separation anxiety. I really always liked Dele and wanted him to get back to the Dele we all loved. I would be gutted if he ends up doing at Everton. Does not seem right seeing him in that shirt. Very weird for me.

I agree but only to a certain extent, if Conte deemed him surplus to requirement and doesnt think he can work the system, then its time to say bye rather than hoping and praying he turns it around.

The deal takes us into next season and trigger the payout past the ne t transfer window. I can't help but think that it pleases Levy that we can spread out our player purchases.

Shame we played him in the cup otherwise the 1st appearance clause might have been triggered this season. Might still be triggered before the summer window closes. Seen rumours that the appearance triggers go up to 80.
So might be £10m for 20 then another £10m for 40 and a final £10m at 80 or £5m each at 60 and 80. Then the last £10m based on goals and other stuff?

Even though I know it’s the best thing for the club and probably him I’m still sad to see him go as he was a big part of so many good times. Just will seem weird seeing him another shirt.
That goal against Man Utd didn't get the plaudits that it deserved. I don't think there is another player in the PL who could've scored that goal. There are probably only 3 or 4 players who would even have the audacity to try it. Absolutely incredible goal that.

Feels like a final goodbye to the golden Pochettino years, which is illogical and painful in equal measure. Grateful to have experienced it, always will be.

Thanks Dele and good luck.
