January Transfer Thread - it couldn't open and close any quicker

Thats 4 players from our bench that have gone and only 2 coming in, who will fill the bench? Youngsters?

Im not sure it’s that simple as 4 out 2 in

Lo Celso/Ndombele we’re not going to get on the bench again

Gil//Alli - yes

we’ve gotten 2 in plus hopefully SB back.

We really are kings of the last minute deal. Nothing for 30 days and we have 4 deals done so far today with another (Dele) very close.

It all does point to Levy playing a game of brinkmanship every bloody time. However we've done it, it's a good window especially if we can get a backup for Kane.

It's Paratici doing the deals now.

All transfer windows are like this, most of the action happens at the end. We obviously had some high profile targets and had to wait to see what could be done. It's also a case of our ins and outs fitting within our budget. Spending big early could leave you at a disadvantage later and there's a summer window to consider as well.

I actually think our two incomings happened when they did as Juventus only let them them leave when they had tied up deals for their replacements (i.e. after they did deals for Vlahovic and Zakaria they then allowed Kulusevski and Bentacur leave). Kind of like the reverse of the way that we do things (i.e. them getting players in before they let players out whereas we always seem to be the other way round and have to get players out before we can get them in).

I don't think Levy has had much involvement with transfers at all this time round.

Contrary to what those protesting clowns today have been trying to squawk about.

I see that Marcus Edwards is off to Sporting, so we'll get a little income from that too.

Leaving it late if so!! Potentially 4 out, only 2 in which I guess would be the basis of the rationale
But whose to say we haven’t already had a deal sorted earlier and just waiting to pull the trigger? Just because the press are not reporting it doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Just see a tweet saying Conte blocked Harvey white from leaving on loan . That would suggest we are done and we will see him in the squad more .

true

and plenty they do report isn’t actually happening either

GK: Lloris, Gollini
RWB: Royal, Doherty
LWB: Reguilon, Sessegnon
CB: Dier, Romero, Davies, Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga
CM: Skipp, Højbjerg, Bentancur, Winks
FWD: Kane, Son, Moura, Bergwijn, Kulusevski

We're one attacker short of having two players for every position if we're going 3-4-3. We could also play 3-5-2 if injuries means we have to.

Setting aside quality, the CM quarter looks quite one-dimensional and lacking in attacking threat, but the biggest gap is no back-up CF
