January Transfer Thread - it couldn't open and close any quicker

That seems like a v good deal. Talented player reaching his peak imo
Would be an upgrade for us at RWB but it doesn’t look like we’re close to shifting Doherty and we all know our one out to get one in rules. Maybe we can agree a loan deal out to somewhere for Tanganga in the next couple of days?

You say the club should not make profit. Well, if the operating cost is equal to the revenue, you have no funds for further investment, and will need to sell before buy.
The operating cost isn’t equal to the revenue though (revenue has been higher than operating costs every year other than the two affected by Covid)

Spurs typical behaviour in each and every January transfer window:

The window has been a total disaster.

Best thing we can now hope for is that the wasters get shipped out and we can get some loans in of similar quality but with the right desire and mentality.

Then we must hope injuries stay away from our key players. If this happens top 4 is possible. Even the fa cup if we get the sort of luck that has seen the goons play semis and finals against teams such as hull, soton, reading, villa etc.

@Jordinho any more news on the third party investment. We all know the consequences should the investment not come and top 4 isnt achieved.
What would be required for you to not view this window as a total disaster?
NOt even a very good window, but just to move the needle away from total disaster?

Starting to look like Ollie Tanner and some midfielder I have never heard of. That West Ham taxi driver from 2 years ago will be having another field day

Bergwijn to Ajax rumours picking up again this morning, another potential outgoing with seemingly little going on with incomings...

Baffling really.

Son injured, Ndombele, GLC, Gil and Dele all strongly linked with leaving.

Amrabat and Kulusevski appear to be our only current strong linked for incomings.

Very odd.
It’s not that odd. IF Bergwijn is going, there will be another player coming in who hasn’t been linked yet. As I’ve said previously most of our signings aren’t ones that we are constantly linked to, the Diaz one literally came out of nowhere a couple of days ago and there will be a new name that emerges if Bergwijn is going…..

That's the hope yes with less than 72 hours to go.

Kuluevski plays the RWF role also, would he not replace Bergwijn potentially?

Strange transfer window when you’re hoping more for outgoings (cash not loans so much) than incomings for the overall health and shape of the club. I’d be sad to see Bergwijn go but if he’s the only one anyone’s willing to buy then can see the club doing it.

Conte played Bergwijn up front when he was available, he’s said several times he sees him as back up striker for Kane but he can of course play in that wing forward position too. My guess would be that if Bergwijn is being sold(it seems to be more wanting to do it on the Ajax side than ours) then we would only do so if we find a quality player in a forward position which is why we moved for Diaz then we could justify him going and potentially a Morata or someone on loan to cover the striker position. If we don’t find a player of really good quality he will stay until the summer at least….

10 goals and 9 assists in 36 Serie A games in season 19/20

Are people seeing different numbers elsewhere!? Maybe they saw 4 in 2019 and 6 in 2020…..Which is still 10 in the 19/20 season!

Can’t be many 19 year olds putting up 19 goal contributions for a team that finished outside the top 10.

How I see it too. I dont see Stevie B going this window

Its probably one source giving league stats and the other all competitions

At the start of the window I would have considered a couple of pre- contract signings and us off loading Tubs etc as a good window
