Because you take a lot more notice of spurs transfers than those of other clubs. Leicester went for coutinho and missed out this window.

You're entirely missing the point here. When a candidate is identified, other clubs are able to sort a deal. With Spurs, it's never easy, it's never simple. Leicester accept a player is worth X and a club won't budge. We spend weeks with our dingdong in our hands.

Er, hardly any confirmation that happened. As of yesterday all reports were we were around £4m apart. Today, the only person saying a deal was done was Michael Bridge who has close links to the Spurs hierarchy. No one else said a deal was done pretty much. And reports from Portugal the same.

The reports last night (sky, sun etc...) were that the fee was agreed. Then liverpool agreed.

No deal has been done yet.

Also i'm not on Twitter but the only person who ever seems to get most of these right is that Fabrizio guy and he said Porto didnt' accept our offer.
The Athletic are the most reliable out there, and they said Spurs did all they could and would go as high as Liverpool but the player wanted Liverpool. Stop seeing what you want to see, it was always going to be Liverpool if they wanted to sign him. You can blame many things on Levy I’m sure, not signing Diaz is not one of them…..

How do we as fans know how long it takes another club to buy a player
We’re not trawling their forums and rumours are we

Hardly any links with Diaz to Liverpool until after Spurs bid was rejected. None of the journos with links to Liverpool claimed it was on. None.

Don't get me wrong, now Liverpool are in, of course we won't compete. But the fact is, we could have got this over the line if we made a bid that was required.

Reports in Portugal: Neither Diaz or Porto were ‘particularly seduced’ by the offer put forward by Tottenham last week with the winger ‘believing he could reach a higher level’.

If only Levy was this blaise with his own salary.
What the f.ck are you on about?

Twitter really is a powerful platform....for all the wrong reasons.

Edit: I've just read you're not on Twitter....jeez I'm at a loss to know what to think now.

The idea that a selling club can’t socialise interest in their players is quite funny.

You’re a selling club with an asset. Spurs come in with an offer for your prized asset. What do you do? Keep things 100% confidential with Spurs, or alert other clubs who’ve shown an interest in the past? Hmmm let me think…
