Adama Traore

An obsession with the idea that Conte changes failing wingers into WBs because he did it once with Victor Moses.

It seems the people who are “obsessed” are the ones against the idea by this thread if we’re going to get childish about it.

Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that Traore has played the position before (cue angry mob waving printouts of unflattering expected assist charts).

I mean sure. He's just not very good. *Shrug*

I'd rather we didn't sign him because I can tell we'll just want a better player in the very short term.

Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, it’s when people create a hysterical version of differing opinions so they can overreact to their own imagination that puzzles me.

And some set their stall out a few years ago declaring him a sprinter with no ability. He's an enigma, and the truth lies in the middle somewhere. The tantalising thing is if Traore can execute his final pass/shot a little better, then he's a 100m player. Certain managers could bring him on, but I think he'll always be mercurial. A wild card.

Maybe just maybe if you gave him a clear structure (on the pitch) and got him to work on certain elements of his game, then he could become CL level and more. I don't want to slander the guy, but he is a little bit in the Ndombele mold - crazy skill you can't teach - but doesn't do the simple things well that most pros find easy.

As for our interest, it is clearly if we can pick him up for not too much. And that is how I think his signing would be a success. Not as a star player, but a sub who could become more.

Definitely worth a punt. Look at antonio at wham. No one would have wanted him years ago and now we’d love to have him in our squad.

I’m actually not concerned about traore from an attacking point of view at rwb. He can be very menacing in that role and has the pace and power to be played in behind, to the byline just inside the area for cut backs that city do all the time and we used to do with walker.

My only worry is what will he be like defensively. He has the pace and power (again like walker) to get us out of trouble etc but what will he be like defending one v ones. I suppose it wont be needed to often as he is rwb and not playing attacking rb.

The sad thing is conte wants him weeks ago yet we have to sell to buy because of our clam owner.

Your repeated use of one of the worst words possible to slander someone you do not know at all is starting to grate a bit. At the very least show a little variety, creativity and imagination with your insults rather than base obscenity of the type used by a small child just saying the same word over and over as though it's a naughty taboo that will gain him attention.
Please.

Annoying that it's looking like we're spending the whole window trying to get a player in who can't even get into Wolves first team
Showing real ambition as always Spurs !!
IF we won our 4 games in hand we would be 3rd and close to 2nd
A few signings next week could really help that and then we would be in pole position for the riches of the CL once again
But no

This, 100% this.

Lol we are spending the whole window trying to get Traore in? What is Paratici just on the phone to Wolves all day everyday throughout this window?:D You don’t even know how interested in the player we are, a few links in the media therefore we must be trying desperately to get him in right?! Surely you must know better by now…..

Why have we no signed anybody else yet, the window didn't open on Jan 1st
What have they been doing for the whole of December, other teams seem to sign players early in windows, we never seem to

I saw somewhere, he is hoping Barca, will come in for him. Not sure what planet, he is living on.

To be fair, he's not an awful lot worse than

12 teams have signed nobody so far. And looking at the signings that have been made I can't say there's any that I wish we'd made.

This for me too. Most signings made so far have been for players teams were happy to sell. Not a lot of those floating around that would be of the required quality for us imo.

Also, Paratici is reportedly one to try to look for a lot of potential deals before deciding on the one to actually go for. Positives and negatives to that, but it usually won't mean a quick deal early in the window.

Most of us have wanted a DoF like Paratici. Let's see what he can actually do first.

Countinho has been crap since his move to Barca.
Dinge is a decent player but not in a position that we really need.
Wood possibly.

Coutinho is only a loan - no real risk
Think with Dinge is better than Sess/would allow see to push forwad and rotate with reggy

Digne is better than Sess at the moment, but he's 28 and Sess is 21. I think Sess has the potential to be a better player.
Either way I'd rather Paratici spent his time looking for players for our weakest positions.
