Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Just reposting this. So many on BBC news (tv and internet) saying "well, it's ok, I do like Boris".

Christ, you're idiots.

It's ok to like boris, i'm sure he could be a perfectly affable guy.
But so is my window cleaner, but i wouldn't want him running the country.
You want to shout at these people "Its not a reality programme, its reality ffs, this stuff is important!"

The party seems bereft of serious politicians IMO.

Who would be a dark horse in the race do you think?

The nearest thing to a Cameron/Osborne during Howard, or Blair/Brown during Smith, ready to stage a takeover, is perhaps Tugendhat/Ellwood (with maybe Mercer too). They look to have been building a big alternative powerbase through chairing the Foreign Affairs and Defence Select Committees respectively.

Scara or someone will probably know more about the personalities/inner politics. I like/observe politics, but I'm not particularly into any of the main parties.

He's not affable. He's literally a psychopath (maybe a sociopath, if you are being generous)

I did say could be.
I don't think he's a psychopath, i think he is a dimmer than normal product of his upbringing and environment promoted way above his capabilites.
The fact that he is not only there but seemed popular, difficult to move and that the opposition cannot really cannot damage him highlights how sick our politics are.
We can jump up and down shouting about nasty tories and loony lefties all we want, but at the end of the day we elected them.
The old "you get the government you deserve" is getting truer every day.

Didn't JOHn major keep faking minor I minor at this point in thatchers tremors love yremoval?
That's the smart middle ground.

Keep making small enough moves that they're completely deniable but have your friends in the press write them up as you pushing the PM.

Not seen the whole statement so might have missed it, but don't see any mention of boris.
Everyone else gets thanks and appreciation.
