Also a very carefully worded statement there…. They HAD an elite manager for about 25 of those 35 years so didn’t need to appoint one.
Conte at Man Utd for a couple of years and they likely win a title and are guaranteed top 4 I’d say….. For us?… Top 4 of we’re lucky.

Basically told levy and paratici i am going to freeze out the most expensive player the club has ever signed and joint top earner. They gave him their backing. Just as levy did when poch first joined and we shifted a load of players and played the likes of mason, townsend and kane.

he looks absolutely done in already, club doesn’t seem in any rush to do anything in this window, the squad is still poor, we have players with awful attitudes that we are struggling to off load and it seems no money.
I don’t think it’s likely, but I don’t think it’s over the top to suggest it either.

Well of course the squad is still poor. It’s been two months since he was appointed and his first transfer window has 20 days to run. He didn’t walk in the door assuming this team was one ketchup tweak away from greatness.

I don’t think he did either, but I’m sure he was told we would be active in the transfer market (we still might be) as there is a lot to be done on this squad - at the moment it seems not to be the case.

Conte has already said he is here for a project, so as long levy is prepared to accept that EL is more likely than CL this season and we set ourselves up for the push next season everything will be fine.
