Giovani Lo Celso

The only hesistancy I have about selling GLC is that he does put the effort in (contrast with Ndombele), has a good attitude and is technically strong...plus playing in a team without a CF is hard. However his injury record counts again him and I'm not sure where he fits in a Conte team....plus a majority of the fans are against him meaning I feel that a loan for him is the best route, assuming we have enough bodies to cover

But he did manage an assist and 6 key passes
I agree he needs to go but he did show more than a few out there which is why he was kept on for longer
He also got MOTM on who scored which I’m surprised about
What was noticeable was that once he had forwards on the pitch he looked to pass their way… wasn’t rocket science really
The assist was a 5 yard pass under no pressure. Wasn't even close to being a goal scoring opportunity. Only very clever work from Kane made the goal. Lo Celso was shockingly bad in the first half. Better in the 2nd, but so was everyone else too. How he got motm is beyond me. Only Lucas, Sessegnon, Kane and Winks were on an acceptable level.

Hey it wasn’t me who voted for it
I’d have gone winks or sessegnon

Imagine if he’d had the chance to work with them…BTW, Sess was committee not him. I think we should’ve kept Foyth - he can pass and play football!

He did have the chance to work with them. They gave him nothing for the first four months of the season. I don't for one moment buy this bbrick about a "Committee buy". Poch was on the committee. The committee wouldn't have spent that money on them without Poch's sanction - otherwise it would have been an entirely fruitless exercise.

And what happened to all the other 26 players bought under the Poch era - he had a lot of time to work with them!!!

Most have been absolutely fine. Many were punts on young players. The stand out big signing failures have been janssen, Ndombele and Lo celso. Though the latter was doing well under Jose so he signed him permanently. You forget the successes, Moura, Son, Sissoko, Alderweireld Trippier. I think Sess will be a tremendous player given time.

I know we've already seen it in Winks, Sessegnon, Dier and Davies, but I still wonder if GLC could be for Conte what Fabrigas was for him at Chelsea or Eriksen was at Inter - his slow burn project that comes very good after six months. At this stage I'd back him for that over Alli or Ndombele.

Whenever not injured Conte has used Lo Celso, same can’t be said for Dele and NDombele. When others were taken off he kept Lo Celso on Sunday. Don’t think he’s anywhere near the ‘get rid of’ list Conte has personally, just needs to prove he can stay fit….

Same here.

Just a slight correction, both Ndombele and GLC did well under Jose when they were fit and he played them in their preferred positions. Sadly they were rarely fit together.

Was Fabregas horribly one footed? (Eriksen obviously was anything but).

Here we go again eh? Sigh...

I think maybe Lo Celso is in a position where he needs to prove himself and is getting chances to do just that. Whereas others perhaps have gotten chances and not taken them.

He has quality, but needs to add some aspects of his game to be a real natural fit under Conte. Can see it go either way, and honestly if we end up getting a solid bid for him I think we'll let him go. More potentially good, if things go right than anything. And we could do with some transfer funds.

Wrong thread for it but Poch wanted Sess, he actually wanted him a year earlier to phase in as Rose’s replacement. The one he didn’t want was Clarke (as evidenced by him being loaned straight out again). Clarke was a Pleat recommendation (and I have nothing against those, Pleat is a man worth listening to when it comes to young British talent).

Interesting.
I had always heard that Sess was a Levy/Pleat thing (both times) due to that ‘young English talent’ policy. I had heard that about Clarke also.

They should listen to pleat more
He does know the English game at that level and can see the talent
