Tanguy Ndombele

I know that @scaramanga loves defending his Ndombele, the sooner he goes the bel, and at one stage I would have stood alongside him on that hill too, but he was just shocking today. I think it is time to cut our losses,
Didn't see the game today so I'll take your word regarding his performance.

That doesn't change the fact that his potential is higher than anyone else in our squad if we can get him playing to that.

That he is naturally the most skilful player in our squad, no argument from me, but he needs to want it. He played against a division 1 team today, he should be dominating lesser players but he was tinkle poor. I was willing him to do well today but he was tinkle poor. A number of players were poor today but he was the worst by some distance #Timesup

I dont think there's much of an argument about his potential but if none of Conte, Jose and Nuno can get him playing consistently then I think its very hopeful (to be polite) that he's suddenly going to start to playing consistently any time soon.

Any how many top teams in recent years have accepted carrying a lazy or maverick player?

United have kept Pogba even when he was being a lazy twunt

Only because of the price they paid for him! And Pogba has delivered more for them, when fit, than Tubby has for us.

Both are very talented players, but Utd are a bit similar to us with picking him - its an act of desperation. None of City, Liverpool or CHesatski have a player which they carry, Bayern never have, Real the same...you could argue that Barca tolerated Messi walking around...but he's Messi. Similar with Juve/Ronaldo. But both Ronaldo and Messi have delivered ridiculously regularly over their careers. Tubby isnt even in the same conversation, so there's no way we can build a team around him or to cover his deficiencies

Fully agree
Same reason we have stuck with him is because of the money (like you say United have with Pogba)
It’s the only reason

Adel Taraabt was one of the most insanely talented players I've seen in our colours but his attitude stank and his career is proof that talent alone doesn't cut it. Ndombele has had enough chances under several managers and failed time and again. He's done.

Are you having a laugh? He is more injury prone than Le Celso, we should not touch him with a barge pole
I did not say take Tolisso, I said I wanted them to come again for Ndombele. An offer is negociable and instead of Tolisso put another 10 mil and we have a deal.

Nah. Part of the reason we will get offered swaps like that is because we are exchanging our trash for theirs - Ndombele for Tolisso. If Paratici manages to get someone offering straight cash for Ndombele, it will have been a feat worthy of the Victoria Cross - otherwise, it will likely be just various player-exchange deals like that. We both get shot of useless players, and maybe the trade works out better for one side than the other - but even if it doesn't work out, at least you've shifted a deadweight.

It's actually unfair on Tolisso because he isn't bad or uncommitted, just injured a lot.

For Ndombele, trash is being generous because trash can be recycled. He's such a toxic waste it's hard to know what to call him, really.

Tanguy Ndombele hopeful of move away from Tottenham in January window
By Charlie Eccleshare

Tanguy Ndombele is hopeful of a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this month, The Athletic understands.

The midfielder was booed off by a section of the Spurs fanbase on Sunday after slowly leaving the pitch when substituted during his side's 3-1 FA Cup win over Morecambe. Head coach Antonio Conte would not be drawn on the incident in his post-match press conference, but senior figures at the club are understood to have been disappointed with Ndombele's actions.

There is a feeling among sources close to the player and club that a move would be best for all parties. Ndombele told Spurs he wanted to leave in the summer, and they would be open to a sale this month - as they were then had they been able to find a buyer.

The issue remains that Ndombele, who became Spurs' record signing when he signed from Lyon for £55 million in July 2019, is paid £200,000 a week and finding a club to match that will be difficult. Ndombele is also on a lengthy contract that doesn't expire until the summer of 2025.

Ndombele has attracted interest from Barcelona previously and has his sights set on a big Champions League club, but there has not been any concrete interest as of yet this window.

Spurs are extremely unlikely to recoup anything like the fee they paid Lyon two years ago, and the initial priority will be finding someone to pay Ndombele's wages, or at least a chunk of them. A loan then would make sense if an interested club is willing to stump up the cash.

Ndombele hopes that will happen, and if not he will likely continue to be used sparingly be Conte for a team he's never looked fully at home in.

Seriously, fudge ndombele, he’s an absolute disgrace. Our record signing, on £200k a week, and he makes no bloody effort. 4 very different managers have tried and failed to work with him to no avail. The man is stealing a living.

I was so excited when he signed, but now I just want him gone.

and he’s living in absolute dreamland if he thinks he’s good enough for a big cl club. Fail with us and then move on to a big club, yeah that’s not how it works mate!

If there's no buyers, perhaps we should just be loaning him to someone and paying some of the wages. Do that for 3 years or whatever and then he walks away. At least someone else will be paying part of his wages

Get Cardiff to sort out a private jet for him, then at least we would get insurance pay out.

We really need to get rid of him, i said when he first came here he is what we call players like him a " playground player" plenty of tricks and turns but no real end product and he has proved that to be true.

@scaramanga What really tinkled me off, was not only was he total gash today, but the way he slowly trudged off the pitch when we were a goal down, it was unprofessional. Dele had the sense to walk off the pitch near where he was standing and then walked around the pitch to the bench, while Gil ran off. What Ndombele did today was a disgrace.
