Harry Kane MBE

What on earth are you on about?.... Kane is meticulous in his diet and even has his own chef.
He's dropped about a stone in the last 3 or so weeks. It looked very obvious seeing him yesterday

I'm not saying he wasn't in shape, but we must have decided his optimum weight is now different. Conte did the same thing with Lukaku - very dramatically there

Sounds like your speculating at best here fella

Ah, but does he still? What with lockdown and all that.

Actually, we might be on to something! Maybe Kane's decline in form is all because his personal chef couldn't cater for him during lockdown, leaving Harry and Katie to subsist on a diet of M&S ready meals and Pot Noodles...

Conte: Kane happy at Spurs

Antonio Conte believes Harry Kane is happy at Tottenham and is firmly on board with the club’s project.

The England captain was heavily linked with a transfer to Emirates Marketing Project this summer but his efforts to push through a move failed to come to fruition and look to have contributed towards a below-par first half of the season for the forward.

Kane struggled for goals under Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked in November and replaced by Conte, and even now the striker has only scored nine times for Spurs in all competitions this term.

Yet a second goal in the Premier League this campaign and improved display on Sunday against Liverpool showed green shoots for the 28-year-old, who will aim to build on that when Crystal Palace visit on Boxing Day.

Conte said: “Harry has showed me great availability and showed me (he is) totally involved in the Tottenham project.

“I see him every day and I see that he is happy.

“He leads in the training ground, he leads in the dressing room and he leads during the training sessions in a fantastic way. I am happy for what I am seeing every day.”

Considering neither Harry or son are at the top of their game there's a lot to look forward to in the next couple of weeks.

If Conte gets Kane's head back in the zone and Son hits one of his purple patches we can have a great 2nd half to the season- to think we have 4th in our own hands despite playing with an off form striker all season says a lot

We are a creative midfielder away from 2nd in my opinion. The Premier league is brick.

Well taken goal today, and a few brilliant passes, but he's still sloppy and slow in possession. He still doesn't look like his usual self. Great to see him scoring again though. Hopefully he'll hit top form soon.
Looks like the same Harry Kane from the last 3 or 4 years to me these past few games.

Sorry mate but you’re talking gonad*s… if Conte had a whole squad of players as professional in their preparation as Harry Kane then he’d be delighted.

Loses out in more close situations than he used to I think. Sharpness, touch, awareness, something not quite at the level it one was. Some great contributions on buildup, getting into goalscoring positions and finding his class when finishing.

See no reason to think he won't keep building on this now. Only question is if he can stay fit for a good period.

To my mind Kane is the type of player who plays better the more of the ball he gets anywhere around the pitch, the last 18 months he's been living on fight balls and scraps. The current system which sees far more players getting in our opponents box will create better options for him both in and around the box. Yesterday it was noticeable we had 5 or more of our team in that situation many times, I can see this leading to a lot of pressure taken of him to provide the goals.
