Haven't seen many films this year, but my favourites are

Dune
Saint Maud
Palm Springs
Nobody

My 2021 list would be:

Censor
Green Knight
Summer Of Soul
No Time To Die
Last Night In Soho
French Dispatch
The Dig
Without Remorse
Dune
Sparks Brothers
Giddy Stratospheres
Gucci

I'd probably only really recommend the top 7, the others were more just decent

In The Earth was the one I missed that I want to catch-up on

Btw I'm pretty sure Saint Maud was released July 2020; not 2021

Watched Wrath of Man last night. Was a bit rubbish. It’s on Prime.

Think Guy Ritchie was involved or wrote it.

Va fanculo. Fangoo la te mama. Stugatz.

How'zat workin' for ya, sweetcheeks?

I don't even pretend to speak Italian. Though I do love to hear it spoken. And as the token mangiacake at an Italian-language community newspaper, I got to hear plenty of it in my early years freelancing as a fotografo.

I did grow up in a heavily Italian neighbourhood in a city with more than 500,000 residents of Italian extraction. Toronto. And the expressions above are the words - among many others- I routinely heard from the kids of these working class immigrants, often while sitting in the high school cafeteria gambling away our lunch money playing briscola and scopa, talking about how to sneak out a few pints of their dads' home-made grappa to help us get in the pants of the abundantly endowed Marchiori sisters.

If I'm not spelling things perfectly, hey, bocce me culo, brutta bestia.

Saw Spider-Man: No Way Home on Wednesday. Absolutely loved it! Pulled off quite a risky concept. Comfortably my favourite film of the year and my favourite non-Avengers Marvel film. Don’t wanna oversell it to anyone but that’s my honest opinion of it.

My other favourite films of the year:

No Time To Die
Nobody
Shang Chi
Luca
Palm Springs
Last Night in Soho
Another Round (technically released in 2020 but only saw it last night)

Enjoyed the ones in bold.

Wasn’t keen on Dune.

Didn’t know what to make of Censor. Interesting idea but thought of went off the rails a bit towards the end.

French Dispatch….no offence but that was one of my least favourite films of the year :D

A few on that list I’ve not seen so something to look out for
