So, what happened today?

2 teenage boys stabbed to death last night where I live. 8 people arrested on suspicion of murder.
No idea of the circumstances around this or how old the victims were (teenage boys could be anything up to 19 I guess), but regardless, what a sad state of affairs and waste of young lives - both those killed and those who will now be jailed.
 
Our 2nd son arrived into this world today! Such an incredible feeling to become a father again, even having experienced it before.
It's amazing to hold a newborn little person in your arms :)
All went well, and both mother and child are healthy and well. Couldn't be happier!
Hoping the weekend can continue to be this good, with a win tomorrow!

That is wonderful news. Congratulations to you, your wife/partner, and to the little big brother! Nothing else matters really, but if you can spread some of your good vibes to N17 tomorrow that would be great! Congrats again.

We had some kind of hawk rip a pigeon to shreds in our garden last Sunday.
Sat there for over an hour devouring it, amazing.
Had our garden remodelled and built a gazebo a couple of months ago. Went out to the garden today and something has been in the gazebo, judging by the droppings its the hawk, but maybe an owl. Amazing the wildlife thats about but you seldom see.

An adult sparrowhawk will take a woodpigeon, so most likely that in a garden (well, depending on the location). I've seen the feathery residue of that in past but not the act itself.
We had a juvenile a couple of weeks ago feeding on a smaller catch - possibly a dunnock.
They are a beautiful bird.
 
I’ve had sparrowhawks dine on pigeon in the garden a few times, amazing how much bone disappears too. I thought I’d have to clean it up before letting the dogs out but I couldn’t see anything other than a few feathers.

Had quite a few red kites overhead this year too, a remarkable comeback story.
 
Weird thing, artificial grass laid over the summer and got a bit of putting and chipping practice area, so there's a dozen ir so golf balls lying around. One of them has been attacked and the cover stripped off.
There's no teeth marks, it looks like claws so i think it's been the hawk again.
It was an old style ball with the wound elastic inside, glad it never got down to that, could have been dangerous.
 
2/3'rd of the way through my 1st contract so starting to speak to recruiters again now
Am noticing lots are starting to call themselves Researchers now, still mainly shysters though haha
 
There is a young girl (6) in our club who tragically has a brain tumour and was fundraising for an op. They were looking for 40k and had got to about 10k.
Conor McGregor just chucked in the last 30k yesterday . I think he is a dingdong but that was quite something.
 
Anybody else here having issues with Royal Mail
The management has restructured the workers rounds, basically told them to deliver more mail for the same money or leave, do feel for them as it's hard enough job in the first place
This has meant in Chelmsford where I live we haven't had any mail for almost 2 weeks
Absolute jokers
