**** Tottenham v Poocastle ****

Yesterday’s lineup was likely our strongest starting 11. Do we have the creativity required? The match seemed easy, we looked like we were in control for all bar the first 5 minutes. As soon as Ndombele scored, we took the game to Saudi Sportswashing Machine and the end result was never really in doubt.

The only question is why we created so few chances against the worst side that we have played this season. It was like we took the foot of the pedal, especially as Saudi Sportswashing Machine were reduced to ten men with Shelvey’s red card. Was that a sign of tiredness? A lack of creativity? Or did we think we had achieved enough and so held off from expanding our energy?

After the poor performances in the London derby matches perhaps we are turning the corner. I said I wanted Nuno to be relieved of his duties at the time. I also wrote off Kane when he was first breaking through. So I hope that I was similarly wrong about Nuno. All I ever want is the best for our club and if we are starting to head in the right direction then I’ll be behind the manager.

Our next match against West Ham will be a truer test. Will we be similarly strong against West Ham? Or will we return to the mess that we were a few weeks back?

Finally Romero is an incredible player. Only early date but he’s going to be a fan favourite. I just hope that we can complete the signing in January, as really don’t think any doubt can be placed that he is the rock for our defensive future.

What makes you think the Chelsea owner is ok? To get to where he is he must have had his hands in some dirty dealings, is basically spending money that belongs to the Russian people and he supports Putin, a massive threat to western democracy, which keeps him and his assets safe. What Chelsea have, done though is a very clever laundering job so now people don’t see them in the same way as the other bank rolled clubs. I’m sure City will get there eventually.
I never said that I thought Abramovich was okay. 'Cos he clearly isn't. I doubt many billionaire businessmen are entirely clean, but he's dirtier than most. Allegedly!

My opinion was that I find dodgy billionaire individuals more palatable club owners than dodgy states. I don't particularly like either.

I feel like this was a similar performance to early Poch second season. We had spirit, we had fitness, and we had a way of playing that everyone seemed bought into.

We seemingly had that today too. This game reminded me of the Arsenal 1-1 away. We absolutely dominated the game, it looked like men against boys, and we let Ox score in the 79th minute.

It was ridiculously annoying. It was almost like we didn’t quite believe we could be that dominating, and we didn’t kill it when we easily could have. That felt like today too. Just needed to be calmer in possession in the key moments.

But hopefully that will come, when the team realised how good they are together. I’d still much prefer this performance to some of the early ones. I think Nuno has done his experimentation and is working towards his best shape. Hopefully going forward we’ll kill games. It was men against boys today too, and hey, we got 3 goals away. But we could have had 5. We got there under Poch, hopefully we can get there under Nuno.

I agree 100% with this. Its about belief.

Before this game to me it was a loss. The build up, Saudi Arabia, St James Park, although admittedly our last 3 games or so haven't been too bad.

However our belief is still not there, as we were cruising for 70 minutes of that game, look at the passing, something like 590 passes vs 350 (I think) yet the score was 3-2. If you hadn't have watched that game you'd have looked at the score and thought Spurs edged it.

If we can play like that every week we will be alright, but yes the opposition will change and not be like that at all. Tough test next week, and will show where we really are I think.

All I want from Spurs every week is a battling performance with guts and spirit. If we lose then the better team won or luck wasn't on our side but I want a Brentford fighting spirit every single week. They seem to do it so why can't we.

I thought Moura was a bit hit and miss, he seems to make quite a few wrong choices with the pass.
Must say I don’t think Moura ever gets the credit he deserves. He isn’t at a Son or Kane level, but the way he consistently breaks the press with his dribbling and he also his turnovers of possession he is good at is important. Not to mention for a little guy he is always so good at heading, unlucky from the corner yesterday….

I was about to say exactly the same thing. Moura will lose possession a few times a game, but he'll also do some good stuff that does come off. In a forward line that includes a woefully off-form Dele and a "bad day" Ndombele, it's incredibly frustrating. However, when other players are getting the basics right, Moura offers dynamism and variation.

His touch in the build up to Sonny's goal was absolutely superb. A quick reaction and deft toe-poke left a Saudi Sportswashing Machine player for dead and set up the pass to Kane.

Yes, he's not someone who I rated that highly in his first years' at the club, however in the last couple seasons he's become far more effective for us. His pace and size cause panics in defences when he gets the ball somewhere between the other team's midfield and defence, and that creates space for others.

All that said, I think we still need another attacked to compliment Son, Gil and Moura. I'd like to believe Bergwijn could get there, and he's still young, but he hasnt shown it consistently yet. I also think that a more creative player would compliment those 3 better than SB

I actually think he is brilliant and offers far more than Stevie B or Dele does, yes he has the off odd game but has far more very good games

Scores important goals and against the top teams. He’s not a flat track bully.

Good enough. Progress of a kind.

Started worryingly slow until Ndombele got us the equaliser and we seemed to settle in. Should not have made it exciting towards the end, struggled to create enough in the second half I thought.

Thought we looked a bit slow and heavy, but Saudi Sportswashing Machine looked even worse. Will have to up our game a bit for the coming games to continue our newly found form I think. Certainly can't afford to start games like that.

Thought we controlled the 2nd half pretty well considering we were 2 goals up, we clearly took the foot off the gas and tried to play a bit risk free. Obviously would have been nice to blow them away, but also stupid and naive to let them back in it early in the second half if we’d have not played it a bit safe.

Equally, it could be argued that conceding the second goal could have made a panic last part of the game when really, we could have put the match out of sight. It’s a fine balance whether to play safe, or to try to kill the match off.

If either PEH or Skipp are out I'd like to see Dier step into CDM (we've plenty of options for CB). He's the closest we have to those two.
Think it would be a disaster to see Dele or Ndombele shoved in there. Lo Celso would be next choice.

Its his best posistion imo. He is looking a lot fitter after his illness and would do a good job in there.

He's erratic because he takes more chances than most by taking players on. Its courageous. That said his passing to me looks below average and fails him a lot too.

Should have been able to create more in the second half imo. They were wide open and we got into good areas with relative ease.

Periods of playing low risk is fine when possible. But a two goal lead will easily turn into a difficult spot if a goal is conceded at any time. Luckily they were down to ten men when they did get the goal so wasn't much of a threat.
