Emerson Royal

We could have Cafu, Desailly, Maldini and Roberto Carlos we would still fcuk it up at St James Park, one of those grounds we tend to crumble. I know we have won a few but I'm pretty sure the draws and losses outweigh the wins heavily.

They are pretty woeful though, maybe it will be about our attack. Hopefully Kane starts his scoring there.

Add in that they are desperate for a win and can't seem to buy one we all know how this ends.

Shame he got the Brazil call-up. Means that our back 4 against Saudi Sportswashing Machine will presumably be Tanganga, Dier, Rodon and Reguilon
Didn't they say that players could isolate at the Lodge and come out once per day to train with teammates or play matches? I.e. anyone can play

They did, but they (Br and Arg) play around 1am on Friday morning UK time so even if they board a flight at say 5am/6am UK time Friday, then they dont get to the Lodge til very late Friday night (flight time of 14 hrs) and will be knackered from the match and flying. Jet lag isnt huge but difficult to see that they are in a condition to start a PL match on Sunday afternoon, particularly when we have viable alternatives who didnt play 2 days before on the other side of the world

Thought he was magnificent against Villa but probably out poorest player today. I rate him but he's been a mixed bag so far. Guess that's to be expected to an extent while he adjusts to England and the Premier League.

Needs to get used to the league. But he looks like a player. We need to be giving Lusala a loan so that next season he can be his understudy. Then the right back position is settled for a bit.

Not as good today but a couple of times he was left isolated by Moura against 2-3 Saudi Sportswashing Machine players. Still think he will be a very solid RB

I didnt think he was that bad yesterday. There's a lot of potential there I think and only 22

With him and Tanganga, I dont think we need to be looking for a RB for a couple years at least, or until we start using Tanganga at CB

Agree but Im not that keen with Tanganga as RB, full backs are such an important area for attacking and he just isn’t mobile enough for me in an attacking sense. I get the argument about him being there against the big boys because of his defensive capabilities but I’d prefer we had another RB in the mould of Royal who gets up and down the wing well and use Tanganga as CB….

He started of yesterday with a couple of mistakes but he got better as the game went on.Promising player for me.

Really shaky start, but some explanations for that with the internationals and little time to prepare. Got better, but struggled physically with Almiron. Definitely promising and will hopefully improve as he continues to settle in.

As you say he was playing in Brazil on Friday and with the plane journeys he was probably knackered, he also has to adjust to a much faster league but the signs so far are promising.

He was up against Joelinton, who is physically a Centre Forward and he competed well. One of the things I like about Royal is that he is up for the battle and physical challenge….
