Am I missing something or in the US do they basically just have a vote every few months to raise the debt ceiling and borrow even more money. No wonder all their stocks keep going up - wouldn't be surprised if there's a massive crash in the next couple of years with all this money printing.

Having a debt ceiling is a smart idea. Having one so easily circumvented is ridiculous.

Will come to a head eventually, they get away with it because the dollar is so widely used. Might be many years away but if oil wasn't priced in dollars for instance or other countries had more stable currencies they'd be in big trouble.
