Saudi Sportswashing Machine

The human rights angle, while factual, doesn't seem to be an issue to most fans. Considering what the City owners and the prospective Toon owners have done in Yemen (Genocide) this has to be worse than anything else we have seen? This isn't even considering the things they impose on their own people.

Either way, it will soon be forgotten and Toon are gonna fly with unlimited money.

most football fans will put up with anything if the team wins

Ashley has actually run Saudi Sportswashing Machine really well, they hate him because he's not put more of his own money in to try and buy trophies, we have an element of that attitude here

shame we couldn't get the ESL going whilst we had the chance, it would have pulled the drawbridge up in front of them, see, that's me not caring about burning down most of the English league system if it benefits my team

I wonder how much a part the resolving of the tv piracy issue with Bein Sports played in the PL now deciding to accept that the Saudi state will have no influence on the running of Saudi Sportswashing Machine, despite funding coming from the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund?

Wish I could give this poxy sport up tbh.

Wonder how they'll manage the whole living in the NE thing (not a dig to those who do) as historically haven't players wanted to move to other parts of the country? maybe that's a myth...

Oh yeh, money!

So we play them, after a massive bounce, while we have no defenders, cause they are playing, in South America, and won’t be back in time.

Ideally football clubs would win without being owned by people with appalling civil rights records but it’s almost impossible to win trophies without rich owners willing to put their hands in their own pockets. Can’t see us winning much without one. At this point if we got one it would be levelling then playing field.

Yeah, things are fudged until there are rules against it, that are actually enforced.

We're just going to get left further and further behind
As somebody else said wish I could give this sport up but I just can't

Sooner or later it will crash, we’ll be in the box seat then.

They can’t all win, if they are not winning their reputation isn’t being washed, and they will drift away.
