Nuno Espírito Santo - Sacked

We Should all get behind Nuno He’s got a tough job and we should not forget that
Indeed. And that was before the issues around the international break. Not just losing players both from injury and the Covid situation but not being able to work with players and it’s a constant that after an international break teams are slower. Palace didn’t have this issue as most of their players were training all week. Final nail in the coffin was getting Manager of the month award:D We don’t have that good a squad, we were always going to have bumps in the road like this - nothing to get dramatic about…..

Scary thing is all the talk of him being a negative manager based in his time at one club
Maybe he is trying to fix the basics right now
And yep…. He got it wrong today
But he had a brick hand after these internationals
Shambolic how we play at that time and also lose so many players. We always seem to get the 12.30 slot after internationals too
I’m going to cut him some slack At least till Christmas

I have no faith in him, have been very concerned even before today but he deserves the season in my opinion at a minimum. We've appointed him so he needs a fair crack of the whip.

And I've been spectacularly wrong about literally all of our managers since Christian Gross so the fact I don't rate him should make him a bullet proof success.

I’m still stunned anyone expected anything before that game
Lost half a team - check
Manager of the month hoodoo - check
Daft kick off time after internationals- check

then look at the game… lost Dier after 6 mins form a mistake by Hugo
Lose Tanganga when arguably they could have lost zaha before hand

I mean the football gods were absolutely dumping on us this week

what is it you don’t like ?

I don't like the 4-3-3 formation and the defensive way we play. I don't like his selections. I don't like the fact there are some worrying noises coming out of the camp (and I don't believe it's Ck66). I don't like his in game management.

I do understand he had a massive amount dumped on him today and he does need to start somewhere with giving us a solid base. The loss today doesn't even bother me that much because everything was stacked against us. But the manner of the performance was really poor. And it had been coming. We've been unconvincing in the Wolves and Watford games. I can see a bit of a hiding next week against the Chavs.

Lose that and the game after becomes huge... its the NLD I think.

Have too
The over reaction is always big after a game like that
No credit in the bank either
His style is a little ponderous so I’m not too sure it’s going to fit my ideals of football.
I see our friend Mr P had another good result, I do like that man’s style of play his team shows.

Before the penalty was awarded I thought it was looking like another 1-0 win for us.
Not sure where the '1' was coming from. Our XG was 0.1. Today we probably gave the most pathetic attacking performance in PL history. 0-0 was the very best we were going to do in that game and that would've been smash and grab.

I don’t like 4-3-3 myself
But we have had a few managers now wanting to go that way
The noises out of the camp are just that IMO. Noise with no substance or source
And today was exactly as I expected except for the red card
People need to look back and see even under Poch we struggled post internationals. Most sides do. Chelsea are being outplayed by Villa right now. They are the favs for the league too

Chelsea are 2-0 up and looking a million times more of an attacking threat than we did today against a worse team than the one they are facing. I have been impressed with Villa though, I think they may well finish above us this season.

I'm genuinely not pinning my view on today. The wolves and Watford games were a bit of a worry. I was very encouraged by City to be fair but when I put the four games together, I'm seeing a side that will struggle to challenge for top 6 in my view.

The guy deserves time to see what he can do. It's very early days so please don't take my skepticism as me thinking he should be fired or anything. My feeling at the moment is that he will fail and fail hard. But having appointed him he deserves time to do that or prove that people like me have no idea what we're talking about.

I'm with you here. I think it will be a long season (and I don't mean long as in that we'll go far in all of the Cups). Nuno deserves time but I don't see us doing any better than last year's 7th place finish and I think we could even drop a place or two from there.
