*** OMT Tottenham v Crystal Palace ***

You forget the chance saved on the line by Lloris in the first half. I didn't even watch the whole match and I saw that one. Maybe you missed the others.

Our XG is low because we don't create much and don't score many either. 3 goals across 4 matches. It's really not going to be enough.

It was scuffed right at him from a yard away, it would have been a major fudge up to concede that shot.

It was a save, but not one of note (until you noted it).

It was an absolutely desperate watch. One of the worst away matches I have ever attended (and I've had the displeasure of many). We have just gone to a 13th to 18th level PL team and tried to nick a point.... In fact 'tried' goes to far there, I think 'hoped' is more appropriate. Zero attacking intent and zero front foot football. It was like watching Jose Mourinho's Spurs team from the point that we went 1-0 up in games.... Only this was worse as we had nothing to hang on to. Before kick off today I thought we'd likely finish 6th or 7th this season. I think that is probably actually optimistic.

The only bright spot for me today was Joe Rodon, who handled Benteke pretty well.

I think the more salient point is that it took a scuffed shot for them not to score there. It was a good chance that was poorly executed. I'm not sure how even you can seek to defend our performance today mate. It was horrendous from minute 1 through to 93.

Watching Winks I feels he knows he's in a bad patch (or know's he's lost it completely), and doesn't even attempt many obvious passes as he doesn't trust his ability. It would be generous to say he was Championship level today.
Watching Winks I wonder how on earth the THFC that we all know and love has got to a point where a player as consistently poor as he is can be starting matches for us.

I’m not defending it, I just think it was no different to the other league games this season and very much what we should expect from the group of players available today.

In turn I’ll defend Nuno; as he played the cards he was dealt in a logical way.

Palace players always scuff those shots, that’s why they play for Palace, none of the 3 goals they scored were clean strikes either.

I’d Chuck Dele in there two.

He works hard and has done good defence wise but offers nothing in the attacking sense. I’ve said it before he’s just not that good on the ball. Looks good when he plays with instinct . Quick one touch passes and flicks.

For that to be effective he needs to play off a striker. In a Cm ish role it’s not going to work.

Because we sold the players we had that were better and made some bad signings in that position.

It’s not Winks’ fault.

Imagine getting beat 3-0 by a team who always scuff their shots?.... Surely the only thing worse than that is defending the performance of the team when getting beat 3-0 by a team that always scuffs their shots?!?

You're right its not Winks' fault. He is just out of his depth in the Premier League.

Sad indictment of the club that our recruitment has been so poor. Hopefully Paratici will address that (though clearly that will need considerable funds made available by the chairman).

Played his cards well? So did we go out there today aiming for a 0-0? We all knew that midfield trio wouldn't be able to provide anything going forward. We had defensive stability in the first half, but zero threat. I'm not sure we had any idea what to do to try and score goals today. It certainly didn't look like we had any idea about what to do, and desperately needing something of a spark in midfield - nothing. Not a single attacking sub. I'm really disappointed with Nuno today - and hope he learns from his own mistakes, quickly.

That’s sexy for you.

I reckon Hugo would have saved the last two had they not taken deflections.

We didn’t have the players to score goals today, with Kane not interested and others not available what else were we going to do?

Ndombele was on the bench, that’s how low in the barrel we were scraping.

It would have been unfair to subject Scarlett to that.

So we've gone into the season with a disinterested Harry Kane?.... How on earth do we expect to achieve anything better than midtable?

Perhaps we should've signed a backup erm... you know.... centre forward or something?.... just like Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester did, or are even those clubs now operating at an advantage to us now.

After that first half, what did we have to lose? Either Gil or Ndombele could've been brought on to bring some offensive flair into the game, the ability to break through the lines and create imbalance. You're not gonna get that from Winks or Højbjerg, so Palace barely had to do anything to keep us at bay. Kane can't run the attack on his own.

He was being Gil in when Tanganga got the red

We’re not going to get it from Ndombele either, we know that, Winks and Hojbjerg will defend and stuff though, which we also know we won’t get from Tanguy.

Gil is a kid and apparently shattered from international duty, it would have been a punt and not in his best interest long term imo.
