It's nice that Russell has copped a ride that his potential dictates he should have. If he were smart, he'd play the role of good team mate to let Hamilton have the best chance at his 8th title - assuming he doesn't win it this season. What goes around comes around, especially in racing.

Once Hamilton has No. 8 in the bag, I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire while still whole and healthy. And the F1 world then becomes Russell's oyster, with a compliant team mate signed to help him begin his push for titles.

Yep, play good teammate, I'd almost go as far as try to get Hamilton to take on the mentor role (Hamilton seems to be inclined to be nice to the younger drivers), learn from him.

Hamilton has 2 years left tops, I thinks it's just locking the 100+ wins/100+ poles/8 championships done, a completely unbreakable record then he walks away.

I've always been a fan of motorsport - and enjoy covering it in my media duties - but once he joined Ferrari, Schumacher is largely why I dialed out F1 for many years. The Darth Vader of F1 - smug, arrogant and one of the dirtiest drivers I can recall and totally protected by Ferrari's entitled position in the sport. Enjoy recalling his attempt to wreck Jacques Villeneuve as he raced for the title and getting stranded in the marbles.

Hamilton is a big part of why I returned to watching it regularly.

Both drivers are brilliant but Hamilton has been the more humble of the two as they're successes mounted. Not saying Hamilton hasn't had his share of incidents - smacking Albon in Austria was deliberate, Verstappen at Silverstone wasn't - but he never carries the smugness Schumacher displayed.

Wow
I've only seen Hamilton in action and if he isn't a patch on Schumacher for being a helmet how bad must the German have been !!

I wonder if we'll ever see Michael Schumacher in public again. I seriously doubt it. Even if he is a complete vegetable now, why can't they just say so, and end all speculation?

I think the clue as to the reason his family prefer to keep his situation private, is your description of him.

Why? Why not just say it. I think his wife has some sick imagination, and want her husband to be "perfect", "immortal" etc. She's certainly a tad weird.

Why is it important you you though? If his wife did come out and divulge these very personal details of her husband's medical condition, what would you do with that information?

What they're doing is counter intuitive. They say they just want privacy, but by not revealing anything, photographers and journalists are constantly poking around their home, trying to find out.
By going public, it would be the end of all the speculations, and they'd be left alone.

Michael Schumacher’s wife Corinna has revealed the former seven-times world F1 champion is still battling to recover from brain injury caused by a skiing accident but remains “here but different”, in a Netflix documentary to be aired next week.

Updates on the former Ferrari driver’s health have been infrequent since his accident in 2013, especially from his family but it seems all that was needed was some cash from Netflix to grease the wheels.

How the fudge does Verstappen keep getting getting away with this brick?

He's got potential but at this rate he should lose his racing license until he grows the fudge up.

Considering his ability and experience through the formulas he really is quite stupid, he was never getting around any other car there, let alone a Merc.

And then claims that he should have been given more space on the 2nd half of the chicane.

That's quite disingenuous. Anyone who's been on a track with such a tight chicane knows that you'll never get a car rotated through the second half if you leave full space on both corners. His assertion is that anyone can just outbrake themselves into the outside of a chicane and would then have to be automatically let through.

He was out on the kerbs too, had they both come out of the chicane on the track he’d have had to let Lewis past anyway.

He’s an idiot.

He has the lead, he has the better car right now, but I still reckon Lewis will take the title.
