Truly exceptional player, always felt he was a secret weapon for us for a while as he’s not a motd type player, but he actually runs the game. I think it even took a while for RM fans to get it and I always hoped we’d get him back. Was an absolute pleasure to watch him in the live so many times.
Seems a humble type too, other than the Chelsea misstep he’s the type of player who Redknapp would describe as ‘Never giving you a minutes trouble’.
I wonder if he could coach the level of awareness he seems to have about what’s going on all around him and usually being one step ahead of it or if it’s just a superpower! He’d improve any team he played for even now, midfielders seem a lot more functional nowadays.

Personally i think that would be highly unlikely, i have worked in coaching for most of my working life and we can make players better and more aware of their job but what Modric ( and one or two others) have is a awareness which is beyond what you learn as a youngster.
He really is a special player and at the age of 36? he can still run a game at the highest level. Ossie was another one we were lucky enough to see in our shirt who had that as well.
